Notice how neither the logo nor the text is vertically centered in its box (they’re both closer to the top). Old printer’s trick. Designers don’t seem to understand this anymore.
General Freezer, Circa 1980. Absolutely stunning, letter 'G' formed by a heat exchanger coil. I can't find reference of it on the internet, thanks @SBurkholder7.
This is one of those topics where a room of smart lawyers and a room of smart technologists will come to opposite conclusions. The lawyers will say, “well sure, it’s no different than how an unlocked door doesn’t mean you can legally enter,” and the technologists will say “by…
what is the charge? accessing an endpoint? accessing a succulent unsecured endpoint?
Nice, looks like they are actually doing it. Awesome. Will be a subscriber.
And to make sure no one misses context, Brave Origin is optional. Don’t buy if you don’t want it. Free-ride all you like, no disrespect. We’ve heard from enough users who say they would buy, who want to cover their costs. One example of many, via x.com/search?q=from%… search:
I find it absurd that in 2025 there still isn't a widely used communication protocol besides email, SMS, and private chat apps. This can't be the way we communicate forever. There's no way.

Modern folks enjoy hating on legalese, but much of legalese is simply the most efficient way to make ambiguous statements clear (assuming the reader has a minimum baseline intelligence). In the past, this was the norm in all professions; lawyers just never stopped.
We yearn for 1960's IBM's sophisticated industrialism. Exposed screws, stainless steel substrates, Futura and Eurostile, rectangularism and logical layouts, high contrast high cognition graphics, durable construction, presentational straightforwardness, high IQ terminology, etc.
You know how slot machines and things of that nature are so addictive *specifically* because they *don't* always work, making you extra excited when they do? They should have to disclose when they throttle the intelligence level of these things...
Do LLM providers switch between different quants depending on the load on their API? Right now Opus 4 feels extremely stupid???
Nice
It takes so long to refresh any non-tiny GitHub diff I actually literally instinctively flip over to Twitter to while it's reloading
Car headlights are too damn bright, and I'm doing something about it. Brightness has doubled in the last decade, but manufacturing standards haven't budged in 40 yrs. Drivers AND oncoming traffic deserve visibility – it matters for seniors & rural roads. youtube.com/watch?v=9YoV-Q…

Me: Extremely explicit instructions LLM: Absolute garbage response Me: What part of xyz do you not [expletive] understand? LLM: Delivers a nearly perfect artifact Why are they always like this? 🤦♂️
And there's an unacceptably high chance some or all of those opt-out checkboxes just don't even do anything (I won't speculate on why, but you can). How would you ever check or confirm? You can't.
New cars are doing more than just watching you….
PSA I regret to announce that Warren is smart and his takes are nuanced.
Yeah, words never come out quite right but having sat on it: 1) Celebrity culture. I was thinking about content creators from an "influencer" perspective. I think some level of expertise within a field should be established prior to trying to exert influence. Share your journey,…
More and more I have a feeling that blank slatists hold their nurture-centric views fundamentally as a defense mechanism. Truly internalizing that you and those you love are largely at nature's whim is pretty scary, actually.
Our society is highly stratified by IQ. This is economically efficient, but results in many people only having extended interactions with people fairly similar to them, which leads to takes like this.
Did they do something to the mosquitos? They’re just… not a problem this year?
This is very true—nobody on earth is coming to save you—and I really believe in personal responsibility, but: God often works miracles if you just ask him.
A life lesson I wish I learned earlier: You are in control. Of everything. It's all on you. Nobody is coming to save you. But you are entirely capable of figuring it out. Of squeezing everything you want out of this life. You are at the wheel. Never let go.
