The 3D Gaussian Splatting paper has (rightfully!) stirred up a lot of attention and some friends asked me for a technical take on it, so here we go: TLDR: Fast, simple, outstanding level of detail, with some caveats (see below). 1/x
3D Gaussian Splatting for Real-Time Radiance Field Rendering paper page: huggingface.co/papers/2308.04… Radiance Field methods have recently revolutionized novel-view synthesis of scenes captured with multiple photos or videos. However, achieving high visual quality still requires…
This is a problem in Europe too. Native demographics dictate a decline in economic activity and demand for real estate. So asset owners, who own politicians too, are keeping the number-go-up game alive by policies of restricting supply and increasing demand.
Peter Thiel: "If you add more people to the mix and you're not allowed to build more houses because of zoning laws, then prices go up a lot, and it's this incredible wealth transfer from the young and the lower middle class to the upper middle class and the landlords."
The concept of "Product-Market-Fit" is a psyop invented by VCs to endlessly distract competing founders from the real goal: Finding distribution.
a startup advice that has you like this
Insane. I hate to be saying this but I hope these "developers" will get sued for this.
TLDR the Tea app stores everyone's photo and ID enuncrypted in a public firebase storage bucket. Hahahahahah. Was this vibe coded?
"We don't have the space!" My guy, 95% of the US are completely empty. 90% in Europe. Wut u talking about? "We can't build a city there!" My guy, have you ever been to Vegas? "It'd be too destructive to nature!" But somehow those solar farms and wind parks are peachy 🌈 no prob
Yeah it’s like we were suddenly shown that 90% of what people do is BS and then afterward they are like “now go back and keep doing that”
Estonia 🇪🇪 continues to be the most based country on the planet.
Inheritance tax is the most unfair tax. Everyone should have the right to decide if he spends, donates to charity, or leaves to his children the already taxed life savings. It’s not a tax, it’s theft, prove me wrong.
My therapist told me yesterday: some people (especially family) will choose to remember & recognize only the version of you that they held the most power over, no matter how long it's been or how much you've changed.
Estonia 🇪🇪 still the most sane country in Europe.
Percentage of people who have never heard of the Laffer curve, and naively believe that taxing the most successful more would increase tax revenue in their countries instead of reducing it.
I think most people believe "the economy" is just this construct that societies "set up" and "maintain" to keep people fed and sheltered, when in reality it's literally the other way round.
This is a big part of my central thesis around, well basically everything. The moment is NOT the artifact. Everything has provenance, and exists within a complex contextual and causal network. Your experiences are rich when they're tied to community. Your nations are rich when…
ohh no... we hit this point a lot faster than i expected those who know, know 💀
My theory is that every country or organisation of sufficient size and resources will inevitably degenerate into a bureaucratic crazyland of wildly out-of-whack priorities. Another datapoint below.
I saw two guys smoking fentanyl and a guy taking a dump on Market street in Sn Francisco during my afternoon walk yesterday. I also got a ticket for running a stop sign on my bicycle and city fire inspectors are making my company dismantle all our office phone booths bc they…
Just learned about the technical details of how Starlink works and it's certifiably insane.
The ability to clearly disambiguate between what's right and what's legal.

Software startups are now mostly disgusting. Engagement hacks, outrage, eyeballs, distribution, attention at all cost. Remember @trypearai? I assume both ends of this were in on this calculated publicity stunt. Feeling more grossed out by SV in 2025 than I ever was by Wall St.
you didnt build shit in 4 days you yoinked a gpl-v3 code, slapped an apache license on it, and called it a startup here’s a quick 101 on how not to steal open source @garrytan @ycombinator is this what you invest in? yuck
I love closed source software. It’s the natural state. Open Source ultimately means that code is worthless and distribution (eyeballs! influencers! engagement! marketing!) is everything. Not why I got into coding 25 years ago tbh.
hurts tbh, but i personally _hate_ closed source softwares
