Another update on this DDP DOJ #shmup board with missing backgrounds. The owner sourced a dead parts donor and I successfully transplanted the background art ROM over from it. Backgrounds are now back and everything is working 100%. 😎 #arcade
Update: I pulled the Text BIOS and background art ROM and dumped each. The BIOS reads fine but the art ROM is all FF so it’s toast. Not sure what I can do to replace it since there isn’t a 44 pin 64 Mbit flash part rated for 5.0V that I’m aware of. Maybe tie two 27C322 together?

I just posted a writeup of the diagnosis and repair of the DDP DOJ #shmup board: jammarcade.net/dodonpachi-dai… The adapter board I designed for replacing the dead mask ROM ended up not being needed, which is unfortunate because I wanted to see if it works. Maybe with another repair...
