Brexit. Tax. Politics. Stuff.
None of the opinions I usually share on here are controversial as far as I'm concerned. That changes today. Here goes. ISAs should not be exempt from reporting under CRS and FATCA. There, I said it.
Oh dear - it's written by an architect and 'reveals' nothing. It's an addled stream of consciousness backed up by mothing but the author's opinions. It also ignores that two of the largest tax havens are INSIDE the EU.
This is only the 5th opinion poll in history to have the Conservatives in 4th place. All others were published in June 2019, shortly after Theresa May's resignation as Prime Minister.

Chart of the Day 🤔 This is taken from a comprehensive demolition of the case for a UK wealth tax, written by a team led by @DanNeidle, which was published this morning 👇 taxpolicy.org.uk/2025/07/22/uk-…
Dan's right, of course. A wealth tax is a terrible idea. Please read.
A UK wealth tax sounds simple: "tax the super‑rich, fund public services" But it's not. Our 16,000 word deep‑dive shows revenues are fragile, it puts growth, investment and jobs at risk, and there's no revenue before 2029. Here’s the evidence:
The economy is what we produce....it's not just moving money around. The fact that money is paid "in exchange for something" is what creates wealth. Paying people to do nothing is the same as paying companies to do nothing. They produce less. We all become poorer.
Benefit payments become someone else's income, as they're spent into local economies, generating jobs and growth. So what happens when you cut benefit payments? 🤔
The wealth tax is a bad idea, but it’s not surprising if you put it to people in a two second question, with zero context, they rather like it.
🚨 BREAKING: Jeremy Corbyn has confirmed he will form a new party with Zarah Sultana
Sad from Reform, but expected. Dan Neidle is a rarity, a man who despite his political leanings is always fair and impartial when dealing with tax. I've seen him call out all parties on tax issues. Zia trying to suggest he's partisan is weak.
Quick request to media citing Dan Neidle as a “tax expert”, please do him justice with his full bio. Thank you!
The Talk TV interview was done in the woman’s kitchen. Talk TV was travelling with the PM. The woman is not an actress or a Labour Party apparatchik.
Suspicious kitchen
Just on Times Radio talking about the Green Party wealth tax proposal. The usual populist stuff about magically raising lots of money from Other People. But in reality the Green Party manifesto raised marginal income tax rate to *72%* for a graduate with three kids earning £60k.
If they've been paying attention then, no, they don't think that. politax.com/post/was-brexi…
Does anyone think that Brexit was about a Great British tax avoidance swindle?? #ExitBrexit
Starmer is correct. We can't tax our way to growth. But we can *tax reform* our way to growth. Some ideas:
UK corporation tax is a mess. It makes us uncompetitive, not just vs Singapore, Ireland and other countries that tax companies less than us, but vs countries like Sweden and Denmark, who have higher tax but a better system.
These people are just plain strange. 😄
I think you should consider an additional career - storytelling 🤣🤣
It's bizarre that they don't check??
'moving the fund offshore wasn't to avoid UK tax. It was to increase their potential client base.' 🤣🤣🤣
If your argument is so strong why do you need to attempt to deceive people with comprehensively debunked conspiracy theories? There is a reason this nonsense isn't pushed by tax practitioners.

I mean, seriously? Do I have to? Again?
He does ,his children & wife have EU passports , he moved most of his business to Ireland and Registered his companies to the Cayman islands to avoid tax . I'm guessing research isn't your strongest skill
