I was starting to worry that the government was not addressing the real problems in the country, so I’m relieved to hear that today they’ve decided to regulate football and dredge up a fracas from 40 years ago.
A national inquiry will be held into one of the most violent days of the year-long miners' strike in the 1980s. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper said it will look into the clashes that involved police and miners outside the Orgreave coking plant in Rotherham in 1984…

For anyone else struggling, 'profit' is the difference between revenues and costs (just Google it, or ask around). And profits are crucial to society because they provide the economic incentive to supply goods and services (see what Adam Smith wrote on this, among many others).
Lots of sniffy comments about James Cleverly 'only' shadowing housing... 🤔 In reality, of course, the lack of affordable housing is one of the UK's most important economic and social challenges, plus he'll be taking on the Deputy PM here!
