Even Southwark Council couldn't pass this dreadful Berkeley Homes Aylesham Shopping Centre plan! That speaks volumes about how bad it is! The battle now moves to national govenment level which is where Berkeley thinks they can win against Peckham!

Empowerment Connection Growth is what we do Supporting Southwark residents since 2012
We’re now living in a time when those who are mobile actually believe their personal right to do whatever they want supersedes our obligation to safeguard others in society - empowered by our politicians it’s institutional discrimination and worse @willnorman
If you think this should all stop and everyone should be able to access their bus directly to and from the kerb then write to your MP.
New blog post: Aylesham scheme rejected - @BerkeleyGroupUK claims scheme is unviable with a minus £41m deficit but their own figures show £84m estimated profit! 35percent.org/posts/aylesham…
Rye Lane’s Labour councillors have always been clear: an offer of 12% affordable housing on the Aylesham site is an insult to our community. ❌ We will continue to work to get the best possible social housing allocation on the Aylesham site for Peckham. 🏡
We welcome the Planning Committee’s decision to refuse the Aylesham application.
Brilliant news. Well done @ACAPeckham @PeckhamVision @ShapeCoalition1 #RightForPeckham
💥Decision on Aylesham site💥 ⭐️Planning committee upheld refusal with additional reasons ⭐️Developers already gone to appeal, scheduled for October. ⭐️We'll be crowd funding for legal rep. ⭐️Thanks everyone for support 🧡 🧡Thanks for your party outside @ShapeCoalition1 🧡
Plans in the making for years to upgrade Peckham Rye station has seen funding pulled by govt today. That's despite it supporting new housing and being the busiest interchange station in the entire country without step-free access fromthemurkydepths.co.uk/2025/07/08/pec…
New developments in Peckham must include enough social and affordable housing to meet local need. With 18,000 on Southwark’s waiting list and thousands of children in temporary accommodation, we need housing for the people who live here. I’ll keep fighting for that.
Southwark Council has released the following statement following the 15 July planning committee meeting to discuss the Aylesham site in Peckham southwark.gov.uk/news/2025/sout…
Good result! - Planning committee refused proposal with additional reasons beyond officers' recommended reason - Developers had already gone to appeal, on grounds of non determination, bypassing planning committee - Appeal in October. - We fight on
