New developments in Peckham must include enough social and affordable housing to meet local need. With 18,000 on Southwark’s waiting list and thousands of children in temporary accommodation, we need housing for the people who live here. I’ll keep fighting for that.

We’re proud to have welcomed our 400th refugee family into the borough Last night Council Assembly passed a motion to champion this achievement and the work of community and volunteer groups in making Southwark a welcoming place for refugees from all walks of life.
This evening Cllr Mohamed Deen gave his maiden speech to speak from the heart in support of refugees, as we celebrate welcoming our 400th refugee family under the Refugee Resettlement Scheme - one year on from gaining Borough of Sanctuary status

Only Labour can be trusted to build new social rent homes. Last year more new social rent homes were built in Southwark than the three Lib Dem-run London councils built collectively over the last 10 years combined

The Labour government is delivering £11 million for green upgrades on council buildings across Southwark, including £9.5 million for heat pumps and new double glazing across our local leisure centres ☀️
