Please read this thread to see 4 studies that show the link between housing shortages and short term holiday lets, and that corrects the other misinformation that this organisation continually promotes about figures for empty homes, even after being corrected. @BBCScotNine 1 of 6
“There is no demonstrable link between housing shortage and short-term letting” @ASSCnews Chief Executive Fiona Campbell tells #TheNine that her organisation has quit the Scottish government's working group on short-term lets as they feel they are "not being listened to".

This appalling penny-pinching tells you everything you need to know about the approach of cllrs & officials in Edinburgh towards events that are the envy of cities across the world. Don’t forget the same folk signed off £1.7m in Tour de France funding. heraldscotland.com/news/25336311.…

Me at Cuddies Lane yesterday. 😍
Private hedges blocking public pavements are the most frustrating bits of casework i've had. The Council goes to great lengths to avoid picking up the tab, but also seems reluctant to issue statutory orders. I'll chase this one up, but from past experience, it will take months.
All too common across Edinburgh neighbourhoods! 😠 If you have a hedge on your property, please be sure to keep it cut back to the pavement edge!

What happened to the money for the Hogmanay street party? Did the council get that back do you know?
Edinburgh council already gives grants and subsidises parts of the EIF. It’s through licencing permits the council brings in income. Provides refuse collection and care for the public realm. It’s freeloading
We’ve finished laying the reconstructed natural stone setts on the Lawnmarket! These before and after images show the transformation that has taken place over the last few months.
Sorry, but this image from @Sustrans is pure #gaslighting. As if disabled people are saying their top needs are cycle lanes and cargo bikes?? How about showing crappy pavements, dropped kerbs, Blue Badges, level boarding, well trained staff, etc etc?
🧵 1/3 We recently launched our Transforming Mobility report. The research was led by our policy team, with @TransportForAll – the disabled-led charity working to ensure all disabled people can travel easily and confidently.
At last! Hurrah!!!

@PLACEEdinburgh @DrScottArthurMP How can I be sure that "self catering industry is a cottage industry run by mainly locals and small businesses"? It's far away from what I've seen.
He personifies the worst aspects of an MSP. An analysis would tell any reasonable person the self catering industry is a cottage industry run by mainly locals and small businesses. A language dies because it is no longer at the fulcrum of commerce, not a couple of cottages.
