This headline is a lie. There are 400 fewer teachers than when @UKLabour came to office, and the lowest number of teachers entering the state sector since records began. Why are media outlets publishing this nonsense? yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/opinion/c…

Treasury goblin celebrates his 'win'; a policy that is driving farming families into penury and even suicide. Telling that HMRC views this as a real victory; as we know they advised several Chancellors to screw over family farms, only Reeves was cruel and stupid enough to say yes
James Mee of @HMRCgovuk has won an award for his work on the family business inheritance tax disaster. Might be well worth giving him some feedback, you could well be the first private sector business owner he’s ever spoken too… linkedin.com/posts/james-me…
I agree ⬇️ The proposed reforms are reactive rather than proactive, placing more pressure on schools without addressing the underlying causes. But, we also need to be realistic. The current system perpetuates the myth that the State can be everything to everyone - it cannot.
Few would deny that the SEND system needs an overhaul, but only giving EHCPs to pupils in special schools isn’t the answer, says @IPSEAcharity’s @catrionamoore13 tes.com/magazine/analy…
The education media are still trying their utmost to protect @UKLabour. Apparently, pledging "6500 new expert teachers" in a manifesto and then entirely abandoning it inside a year is 'clarifying' the pledge. The only thing Labour 'clarified' is that they LIED.

Parents that are actively engaged in their child's school career have the equivalent impact of adding 2-3 years to their education. If we're serious about 'breaking down barriers' or whatever the latest focus-group-approved phrase is, we need less State and more family.
Imagine believing that referring to children as c**** makes you the good guy! In fact, the only thing that Terry's repeated desire to insult children reveals is his own inferiority complex.
I think all these **** factories need closing down. If they can't afford it - get a better job, get an extra job, cancel Netflix have less Starbucks coffees.

The organ really is one of mankind's most wondrous creations 🙏
They played Hans Zimmer’s Interstellar soundtrack in Cologne Cathedral. Surreal.
Real-terms cuts ✅ Teacher nos. down ✅ Ed Tax ✅ Shortfalls for 6th forms ✅ No Ofsted reform ✅ Maintained deficits quadrupled ✅ SEND kids discriminated against ✅ Violent behaviour up ✅ ICT, physics, MFL, Latin & maths support scrapped ✅ I could keep going... Hot air ⬇️⬇️
As the school year draws to a close, I want to say thank you to all of our incredible teachers, support staff, teaching assistants and school leaders. Your dedication to breaking the link between background and success for every child is at the heart of our Plan for Change.
My two children left private education because of this woman and Labour. Sept 24 we applied to the council to home educate as no schools in our area had places or were below par. I’ve heard nothing from the council since so as far as anyone is concerned right now my 11 and 13…

Votes for 16 y.os is yet another encroachment upon childhood. We expose our young people to far too much as it is - something that has been detrimental to their health & wellbeing. Now, we will ask them to unnecessarily shoulder more responsibility. We should know better.
In Nov '24, @bphillipsonMP called for an investigation into disparities between state & private sch's use of extra-time, claiming state schs were "disadvantaged". But rather than confirming BP's claim, Ofqual actually found the data used to make her assertion was wrong. Oops 😬
bonkers

It currently costs ~£3.45 to provide a hot meal to a child in school. But the government only provides £2.58 per meal. After appeals from schools & caterers for the DfE to fill the shortfall, @bphillipsonMP approved a 3p increase per meal. You read that correctly... 3 pence...
Almost 50,000 school places are needed in 2026/2027. We were all told that with falling primary rolls and a declining birth rate there were school places all over the country. Class sizes are increasing, children are unable to get into school and more spaces are needed.
Labour’s record on education is a litany of broken promises. Schools promised compensation for their jobs tax face huge shortfalls. Nurseries got nothing & are on the brink. A key pledge of 6,500 more teachers has delivered 400 fewer. Children, teachers, & parents deserve better.
