The reason the Mpls DFL Convention took so long was Frey supporters trying to run out the clock or disband early once they saw the writing on the wall. You can complain but the process, but Frey knew the rules when he started and got beat. Whining about it is just embarrassing.
But after 11 hours and 15 minutes of nothing happening, at 9:15 PM, and with seven votes left on the agenda, suddenly the convention DID start racing forward, because a majority (of unclear size) seemed to see an opportunity to secure a non-Frey endorsement.

The Minneapolis DFL endorsement process is a ratfucking contest, but with a 60% threshold a two term incumbent should have at least been organized enough to block. This is just as much about Mayor Frey’s support eroding, and now the Frey bros are spiraling.
You can’t get endorsed by a badge count in a competitive race where there are 800 delegates. If anyone says they’re DFL endorsed then everyone should.
