A busy but productive wk+ since announcing my State Senate run (caucus, trainings, learning canvassing software...)! Some have asked how to support the campaign. It sounds cliché, but donations are SO appreciated to help get everything going. nicolemitchell.org/donate
As we hold the Hoffmans & Hortman family in our hearts, last weekend's horrific events appear tied to abortion & people who staunchly supported those rights, myself included. Even as we face political violence, I will persist as a vocal supporter of reproductive rights for all.

On Minnesota - I asked the president about the assassination and whether he plans to call the state's democratic governor @Tim_Walz "Well, it's a terrible thing. I think he's a terrible governor. I think he's a grossly incompetent person. But I may, I may call him, I may call…
A perfect spring day enjoying a couple MN treasures... Thanks @mndnr for the hatchery tour! Our scout troop learned about the process from egg to stocking MN lakes + saw baby musky. Then, a great time @TheOrdway Flint Hills Family Fest. Music 🎶, activities, & saw a great show!

A moving #MemorialDay2025 ceremony at the St. Cloud VA this a.m., hosted by the St. Cloud area METROVETS. I was seated next to a Gold Star family, & their loss was unimaginable. Afterwards, it was nice to connect w/other veteran advocates (photo with MN DAV Commander Walker). 🇺🇸
Happy unofficial start of summer! MN ranks #2 in boats per capita—& we’re proud of it! 🚤 This Safe Boating Week & all season, make safety a top priority to keep MN waters safe & fun! 🌦Check the weather (always!) 🚤Wear a life jacket 🍸Boat Sober 📚Take a safety course
And congratulations to all the graduating students for all their hard work!
I love this time of year! The significance of signing HS graduation letters 🎓while voting YES to fund teacher pensions & unemployment insurance for our school’s hourly workers is not lost on me. Thank you to everyone who helps our children succeed & thrive!
Lol. This is because MN has standards. A lake must cover 10 acres or more. WI counts just about anything as a lake. (2.2 acres or greater)
Casual reminder that Wisconsin has more lakes than Minnesota “land of 10,000 lakes” Wisconsin: ~15,000 Minnesota: ~11,000
Happy #NursesWeek, with today being #NationalNursesDay! I'm thankful to all nurses do to ensure quality healthcare, including offering comfort in some of our most difficult moments. Special shout-out to my baby sister, a nurse here in MN! 💙 @mnnurses

Today's risk for severe weather in MN is significant, including for tornado 🌪️ development. Have a plan to stay safe! Sadly, forecasting for life-threatening events like these is harder to do with the gutting Trump did to @NWS, including suspending weather balloon launches.
With the first round of storms beginning to depart to the northeast, our attention turns to this afternoon's main event. No significant changes in the forecast, as the setup is volatile and will support all severe weather hazards, including strong tornadoes. #mnwx #wiwx
Proud to be a host for last night's Planned Parenthood Spring into Action event. Amazing line up of speakers, including former colleague, Congresswoman Morrison, set to inspire, energize, and strengthen our drive to continuously protect our reproductive healthcare and freedoms.

The Polar Plunge at East Ridge H.S. yesterday was a huge success - the event raised over $10,000 for Unified Club & Special Olympics! I'm so honored I was asked to participate. (Fortunately I changed after floor session & didn't have to compete with Sen. Lucero’s outfits! 😂)
I had the pleasure of meeting w/the East Ridge Unified Club a couple weeks ago. They shared about their wonderful, inclusive program, + invited me to a Polar Plunge fundraiser they’re having Wed to support Special Olympics! I'll be taking the plunge: reg.plungemn.org/participant/ni…

A little compare and contrast from today. The "Hands Off" rally in front of the MN Capitol. The exact same time, in the Rotunda, one of MN's Republican Senators at a rally he helped organize. 😂

In addition to his wonderful movie roles, Val Kilmer was also a huge Mark Twain fan. One of his major projects in his later years was exploring the character of Twain, including in a one-man show, which I saw back in 2013. I met him after the show, & he was very gracious. RIP.

First, quite a bit of pea sized hail, then a needed soaking here in Woodbury!

I hope you will join me and the rest of the Woodbury legislative delegation on Saturday, April 12th for a community town hall! All district residents are invited to attend upon RSVP’ing here: forms.gle/55s5gkJiYiMvgX…
He called this "DEI" not enforcing standards, so clearly, he meant weight. First, there's no context. This person could be pregnant, something else medical, etc. Even if not, I've personally seen far more men not meet the weight standard vs women. This is just sexist nonsense.
This is the state of our military. These are three female MA’s (Navy MP’s). This picture was taken right after they got out of a Navy Law Enforcement vehicle. Massive change in the military is required to end this nonsense.
When you're a self-admitted science nerd, and it's March 14 (3.14), it's the perfect reason to bring in a treat to work! Happy Pi Day!

And the cuts are even more dangerous now than 8 years ago: research for serious diseases, weather operations, even care for veterans...so many things critical to the health, safety, and even lives of Americans are being cut.
While it’s upsetting we AGAIN must fight against federal cuts to the sciences, it’s humbling to go from a protestor 8yrs ago to defending science & data-driven policy at our MN Capitol. W/Reps. Hemmingsen-Jaeger & Falconer. Throwback pic from 2017-the 1st March for Science rally!
I am proud to be a part of this event tomorrow! Please come join us if you can as we show our support for science & evidence-based policies!
