It's official: the ballots have been counted and we have officially been recognized as the Washington Post Tech Guild by the NLRB! In a 171-38 BLOWOUT vote, we voiced loudly that our union is important to us! That's 81%!

Today we delivered a letter on ground rules for our upcoming election to Jay Kennedy, head of labor relations. Given The Post’s disappointing decision to refuse to voluntarily recognize our union, we are asking them to agree to basic ground rules to ensure a free & fair election.
Yesterday, Washington Post technology employees delivered our petition to form the Washington Post Tech Guild to Post management and held a rally outside The Post's D.C. office. We are urging the company to voluntarily recognize our union and begin bargaining with us immediately.

Today, a majority of over 300 technology workers at The Washington Post announced the formation of The Washington Post Tech Guild and are seeking voluntary recognition from the company.

As our coworkers in The Athletic and Wirecutter fight to join our unit, management is using a familiar union-busting playbook. But we know we belong together and are out here today, standing together, celebrating what we can accomplish across The Times.

IT’S OFFICIAL! Today, members of @NYMagUnion voted to ratify our second contract, securing salary and wage increases for the entire unit as well as limits on the company’s use of AI. ✊
📣📣WE HAVE A DEAL!📣📣 Last week, @NYMagUnion reached a tentative agreement with New York Magazine and Vox Media. We could not be prouder of our members who made it clear they were ready to withhold their labor if @VoxMedia didn’t meet them with a fair contract.
