Our landmark trade deal with India is a major win for Britain. This is about putting more money in the pockets of hardworking Brits and helping families with the cost of living.
Young Futures - a "Sure Start for Teenagers" model of support - has huge potential to deliver transformative change. Watch our Executive Chair Baroness @annelongfield in the House of Lords yesterday on Young Futures, and the Minister @Jacqui_Smith1's response 👇
For the past 9 months the Foreign Affairs committee, of which I am a member of has been taking evidence on the “The Israel-Palestine conflict”. Our recommendation: The UK “should now recognise the state of Palestine while there is still a state to recognise. An inalienable…

The UK must immediately recognise Palestinian statehood. There can be no two state solution if there is no viable state left to call Palestine.

Croydon’s trams are over 20 years old, and I’ve continued to make the case for investment to the @MayorofLondon. Thanks to the multi-year funding settlement from this government, TfL is now moving forward with plans to procure a brand new fleet for our community.

I'm proud to be the first London Mayor to lead a trade mission to Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa. There is great opportunity for investment that will benefit both London and our global partners. My message is clear: London is open for business. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
Grateful to meet with the President of Ghana, John Mahama earlier this week. We discussed future partnerships between London and Ghana, and made clear that London remains open - to trade, to business and to cultural exchange.

"This is not my religion" Reform UK leader Nigel Farage says it's "impossible to think we haven't got some influence " on climate change but "as to what proportion it is I've no idea" #BBCLauraK bbc.in/44WXpgI
Under the Tories, the water sector failed customers and the environment. Labour will reform the sector from top to bottom so hardworking British families will never again face huge bill hikes like we saw last year.
We said we’d bring the railways back into public hands. We’re delivering on that promise. From today, c2c services across London and Essex will be publicly owned. Putting passengers first.

When Nelson Mandela visited London after his release, he called the British Anti-Apartheid Movement a source of hope during his darkest days. It’s something we’re immensely proud of. I was humbled to meet his family in Johannesburg today. #MandelaDay2025
My statement following the Government’s announcement that it will appoint Commissioners to oversee Croydon Council:

What connects London and Accra? Opportunity, People, Ideas. Yesterday, @SadiqKhan launched “London To Accra”. A campaign highlighting the potential of the British-Ghanaian diaspora to accelerate trade, innovation, and cultural exchange. #GrowTogether #GoFarGoTogether…
