Croydon’s trams are over 20 years old, and I’ve continued to make the case for investment to the @MayorofLondon. Thanks to the multi-year funding settlement from this government, TfL is now moving forward with plans to procure a brand new fleet for our community.

Grateful to meet with the President of Ghana, John Mahama earlier this week. We discussed future partnerships between London and Ghana, and made clear that London remains open - to trade, to business and to cultural exchange.

In memory of my sister Margaret, we launched a Glioblastoma drug trial. Now, Margaret’s Trial is open on the NHS - and offering real hope. Ben, diagnosed with a Glioblastoma in 2022, saw his tumour vanish. His story helped make this happen. Watch here:

It’s been just over a year since the general election and every single day, I’ve been working hard for Croydon East.

Reform and the Tories wrap themselves in the language of working people- then oppose the clean power revolution those very workers are leading. You can’t be pro-worker and anti-jobs, anti-industry, anti-climate action. The fight is on- with or without them.

Under the Tories, the water sector failed customers and the environment. Labour will reform the sector from top to bottom so hardworking British families will never again face huge bill hikes like we saw last year.

We said we’d bring the railways back into public hands. We’re delivering on that promise.    From today, c2c services across London and Essex will be publicly owned.    Putting passengers first.
