Siobhain McDonagh
@Siobhain_Mc
Labour MP for Mitcham and Morden 🌹 Promoted by Hannah Dordi on behalf of Siobhain McDonagh, both at 1 Crown Road, SM4 5DD.
Thank you for having me on @BBCWomansHour If you are able, I would be so grateful if you could donate in Margaret's memory to Glioblastoma research and drug trials run by the phenomenal Dr Paul Mulholland @UCLHCharity #UCLH Let's make a change happen👇 justgiving.com/fundraising/ma…
Please accept my condolences on the loss of your brother to Glioblastoma. The only way we are going to see progress in treatment is through trials on repurposed drugs. Pharma, Cancer Charities & @NIHRresearch wouldn’t do it so Margaret’s friends had to. Let’s hope that changes…
That's amazing. I didn't realise that's how clinical trials can be / are funded. I lost my brother to #glioblastoma and know how hopeless it can all seem. This sounds similar to Richard Scolyer's treatment?
My understanding is that 16 is the statistically significant number for a Stage 1 trial. We have raised all the money for the trial including the drugs through donations, raffles, tombola’s, marathon running, cream tea making and holding a dinner. It’s not cheap!
This is encouraging. But why only 16 patients on the trial?
Please email me on [email protected] just a word of caution. This trial is for those very newly diagnosed and who have not yet had treatment- surgery, Radiotherapy or Chemotherapy
Incredible news, how do I get on the trial please @Siobhain_Mc
In memory of my sister Margaret, we launched a Glioblastoma drug trial. Now, Margaret’s Trial is open on the NHS - and offering real hope. Ben, diagnosed with a Glioblastoma in 2022, saw his tumour vanish. His story helped make this happen. Watch here:
Thank you to Mini Treasurers Nursery for inviting me to this morning’s graduation. Such a lovely nursery on the beautiful @MordenHallPkNT

Thank you to all the brilliant @DonsLocalAction volunteers who came on last nights @UKParliament tour. It was just a small attempt at a big thank you for all the great work you do!

The heat may have been cracking the flags but that didn’t stop @MMLabour! We were out as usual knocking on doors! Heat exhaustion avoided in all cases!

I was proud to speak in support of @DrScottArthurMP's Rare Cancers Bill today - a vital step towards a cure for glioblastoma and other rare cancers. So many of us are driven by personal loss. We will not stop until everyone has a fair chance of a cure.
100%
We hope you'll be there tomorrow to prevent the potential derailment of the Rare Cancers Bill 🙏🤞
Today, we remember the 52 innocent lives lost in the 7/7 London bombings. We honour the victims, the survivors, the first responders, and all those whose lives were changed forever. We will never forget them.
No. I am simply representing my constituents. Cyclists, pedestrians, disabled public transport users. There needs to be a balance. Pragmatism not dogma.
"heirachy"? Seriously, in the last few days you have revealed yourself to be either unaware of - or completely out of step with - the progressive stance that many European cities have successfully adopted. You're playing culture wars like a Tory.
Since yesterday morning I’ve had residents contact me by email, in person at a site meeting & make an appointment to see me at my advice surgery demanding legislation to control antisocial behaviour and criminal damage caused by @limebike & @forestbike_uk Sort it or it’s coming..
Special thanks to @carolinecm96 @LaxmiAttawar @CoffeeindaWood Dee Bee Tyres & Canedo. Also to Andrew from @TfL . In the heirachy of road users disabled pedestrians & bus passengers have been forgotten and local businesses jeopardised. Pls look again
Thank you to everyone who came along to yesterday’s site meeting about the floating bus stops & parking for businesses on Colliers Wood High Street with @TfL yesterday. Great points made. I will be back in touch with progress 🤞🤞

Concerned about floating bus stops on Colliers Wood High Street and the problems with blue light ambulances getting access to @geshNHS? Meet me & @TfL outside Colliers Wood Station at 10.30am tomorrow.
My statement regarding the discovery of a mass grave in Chemmani. The perpetrators of the Chemmani massacre must be identified, tried, and brought to justice.

Constituents should never be ignored. They are the people who matter but the loudest should not always be confused with the majority.
So basically voters don't matter after you've gotten their vote? The only thing that matters is party loyalty? Its no wonder people feel utterly detached from politics, two party politics in particular. Because we obviously don't matter. And you're openly saying it!
My point is that building a brand as an MP is far deeper than responding to policy emails. It’s about building relationships, knocking on doors, holding coffee mornings and so much more.
Anyone who tries to contact their MP should by definition be ignored, and it's only those who dont contact thier MP who should be listened to, who conveniently by definition dont ask for anything. I see what you did there, genius
The loan was from my late sisters best friend of 30years. On receipt of probate, the sale of our jointly owned home of 25yrs and her business the loan was repaid in full as confirmed in the Register of Members Interest.
The £1.5 million interest free loan that Lord Alli gave to @Siobhain_Mc Donagh. Is it common practice for a sitting MP to take this much money in any capacity from a Labour Party donor? Were there conditions attached to the loan for repayments? Was this loan in fact a gift?
