Lilia's short-break respite support service and that of other severely disabled children and their families remains cancelled. No relaxing short-breaks for us. #StormontAusterity #RestoreRespite

Yet, there is always a constrained financial environment for the people who desperately need support.

Keir Starmer promised people in Liverpool he wouldn't speak to The Sun. He now not only writes articles in The Sun but has just appointed a former Sun Editor to a senior Government communications role.
#DisabilityBenefits Fighting against the cuts to disability benefits is very much a working class issue and one that everyone needs to get behind & show solidarity to Fighting disability cuts - Unite Live unitelive.org/fighting-disab…
Studland in Dorset has a government funded changing places toilet. Similar fund long overdue in Northern Ireland @Chris_McClem

The @Dis_PPL_Protest stall is going down really well. We've been in another debate and did an open mic. The badges are going down really well. #TolpuddleFestival
On #ChangingPlacesAwarenessDay I call on @dptfinance & @JohnODowdSF to follow through on the previous commitment by @conormurphysf to extend the provision of mandatory Changing Places toilets to extensions & refurbishments. A vital next step in #IncLOOsion for all. #NoMoreFloors
TW death x DWP Labour will never be forgiven — not only for the brutality of the Universal Credit and PIP bill, but for the cruel, undermining, gaslighting nature of their messaging on disability. The material effects will last for decades, and more lives, frankly, will be lost.
I’m aware of two people who have already died since the cuts were announced earlier this year. I am just so sick of the cruelty, the lip service about “those who can’t work will be supported”, and the lack of accountability for the lives lost due to the government.
Sorry, but the Timms review is not Co-produced. We have seen the pre-decided terms of reference. We haven’t been told about the fiscal envelope, if any. We don’t know if we can refuse it being a gateway for universal credit health. The Timms review is not coproduced.
#DisabilityBenefits To the MPs who stood up for disabled constituents who voted against benefit cuts we thank you To those who voted for cuts - campaigns are underway to hold you to account & remove you from office To the government we won’t stop resisting you & fighting
#TolpuddleFestival2025 @Dis_PPL_Protest have been invited to have a stall in the Martyrs tent at @TolpuddleFest this year! The stall will be located at the entrance! Come & buy a t-shirt, a tote bag or a badge! @BenClaimant will be on the stall & speaking at a couple of events

This is @RachaelMaskell close to tears as she describes the devastating impact of cuts on her disabled constituents. One told her "it would be better if I wasn't here." She's been suspended by the Labour Party for standing up for her constituents.
Blair didn't need to suspend Corbyn or McDonnell, but then again he had a plan for government and the drive to see it through.
@MotabilityOps @MotabilityPress @DVLAgovuk @EHRC @ICOnews Yesterday a *very* sinister website using open source data was launched with people being encouraged to check wether their neighbours etc had a “free” car from Motability. It has been a distressing 24 hours for many
“When the political and media class wish to leave disabled people hungry and dirty, the disabled community must explain why we should be allowed to eat and be clean.” Today’s col. reflects on a tough month and what it all means for disability in the U.K. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
Staff enforcing bad passenger etiquette doesn't help disabled passengers travelling by train. Why should we deal with the haste of awaiting someone to claim their baggage. It's not acceptable. I'm sure @Doug_Paulley would agree.
1303 Fishguard and Goodwick @tfwrail I told the onboard staff that Luggage should not block accessible spaces as per your policy. Was told it does not need to be moved and is fine there. Accessible spaces are to be kept vacant at all times until needed.
The Department of @healthdpt's Reset Plan suggests home care charges. DPAC NI urges @mikenesbittni to scrap this harmful idea. It punishes disabled people & undermines rights. We demand dignity, not debt. 📢 bit.ly/3IANeH4 #DPACNI #ResetPlan #MikeNesbitt
Thank you to @zarahsultana for saying the names of Errol Graham, Jodey Whiting and Stephen Smith, who died at the hands of DWP sanctions. 'Their deaths were not a tragic exception, but a political consequence. The human cost of decisions made in Parliament.' #BinUCBill
