More Neighbours Toronto
@MoreNeighbours
Toronto's pro-housing movement. More Neighbours in more neighbourhoods, with access to more jobs, more infrastructure, and more culture than ever before.
On vacay and spot a single stair? We wanna see it!

“Planning codes discourage new high-rises in many neighborhoods, and urban designers claim their thousand-foot shadows make the open spaces around them less inviting. But the opposite is true on extremely hot days…” - @samkbloch 😎🌇 NYT GIFT ARTICLE - nytimes.com/2025/07/11/opi…
Excellent to see Housing Minister @gregorrobertson holding Toronto accountable on sixplexes. I don’t think we see this without persistent pressure from advocates and folks in @MoreNeighbours @MayorOliviaChow it’s time to bring this back for another CITYWIDE vote in the fall!
Hopefully the Mayor steps up this time. cbc.ca/news/canada/to…
Your advocacy is much appreciated and sorely needed, Councillor! Let's keep the momentum going.
If we make the right choices, there really doesn’t need to be a conflict between protecting the character of a neighborhood and providing Torontonians with more affordable housing options.

New MMI piece: Governments are trying to make housing more affordable while simultaneously increasing housing starts. But recent GTA experience shows that's impossible without substantially lower costs. First place to start: Lowering taxes on new homes. missingmiddleinitiative.ca/p/why-lower-co…
Looks awesome!
We were delighted to tour the new shelter at 629 Adelaide St W: 50 units of thoughtfully-designed infrastructure to support people transitioning to stability and housing! This is a vital part of the city's housing strategy, and sorely needed to address the housing crisis.
Sharing a piece by @TristanToronto "If Ottawa concludes that housing can wait... it won’t just be shelving a policy file. It will be shelving a generation. And that generation will feel the impacts." moreneighbours.ca/news/blog-post…
Essential services should not be controversial. Yesterday, TSN was proud to join civic leaders, organizations, and residents in welcoming the new shelter at 629 Adelaide St. W operated by @StFelixCentre with support from @cityoftoronto. cp24.com/video/2025/07/…
Councillor Myers in Ward 23 continues to impress on housing. He was the first to want 6plexes in his ward, and now he has a motion to help make them more viable by ensuring they get a DC reduction the same as 4plexes. Big cost savings. secure.toronto.ca/council/agenda…
The stadium seating model of housing: - rich fans move in and want more VIP skyboxes - NIMBYs block it: "skyboxes are not affordable" - rich fans instead get lower-bowl seats - this pushes middle-income fans to the bleachers - now low-income fans can't afford any seats 1/
My latest for @TheHubCanada “Our politicians want you to forget about Canada’s biggest socioeconomic challenge. Yes, it’s still housing” Our politicians may have moved on, but for young people facing a milestone recession, nothing has changed. thehub.ca/2025/07/18/eri…
Congrats to Housing Minister Christine Boyle on her appointment! She has long been a strong advocate for both social housing & broad affordability. 2 years ago she pushed to allow more housing in Shaughnessy; now she can do that along with all of West Van & Oak Bay! 1/3
Looking for a stronger statement than this from Minister Robertson. Is the Housing Accelerator Fund a program with targets, or just a slush fund? Hope to get those details soon.
Gregor Robertson was asked today in Kelowna BC whether the Carney govt will claw back Toronto's HAF funding after the sixplex vote. Says the vote "is disappointing, not in line with the ambition we were looking for"; their offices are still discussing. youtu.be/80hwJHns73E?si…
[Toronto, ON] "...the people who work in this building here at City Hall, many of the new employees might only be making fifty, sixty or seventy-thousand dollars a year in a household income -- that really limits what you can afford to spend on rent..." - HNTO on @CBCNews
