I’m excited to share my latest postdoc project with you all! This was a dream team collaboration co-led by Rita Cervera and @SvitlanaBach. We also developed web apps that allow anyone to easily explore the data, found in the GitHub repo below 👇🏻 github.com/LieberInstitut…
26 years after Larry Swanson emphasized “the amygdala is neither a structural or functional unit” we used sn-RNAseq to answer the question: “What is the [primate] amygdala?” Check out the preprint 👇 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Emerging many-to-one weighted mapping in hippocampus-amygdala network underlies memory formation nature.com/articles/s4146…
Double-blind placebo controlled trial (led by @UABNews faculty Dr. Timothy Garvey) demonstrates >20% weight loss with co-administration of cagrilintide (which targets amylin receptors) with semaglutide (which targets GLP-1 receptors). nejm.org/doi/full/10.10…
If you're planning a study, search DANDI or OpenNeuro first to see if relevant data already exists. If you're teaching, incorporate open datasets into your curriculum, writes @BenDichter. thetransmitter.org/open-neuroscie…
🎉 Excited to share that I’ll be joining the Department of Psychology at Miami University (OH) as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor starting Fall 2025! Deeply grateful to my mentors @The_Fadoktor , Dr. Kokare, and Dr. Subhedar for their unwavering guidance and support.
new preprint from our lab: Modular striatal dynamics and reciprocal inhibition orchestrate skilled action sequencing. Using high-resolution kinematics tracking and neural recordings in mice performing a water-reaching task, we found spatially distributed modules of striatal…
Why do we go downstairs when we hear a scary noise at night? Postdoc Kati Rothenhoefer shows how novelty seeking & explore-exploit decision making in #macaques resolves curiosity about whether choices will lead to appetitive or aversive outcomes. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
We’re entering a new era in brain modulation where we may able to treat brain disease and improve mental health with no wires and no genetic engineering. This study shows that it’s possible to noninvasively rewire neural activity using near-infrared light and systemically…
Yes, failure to control for litter effects is a major problem. We wrote a similar paper on this same topic. No one listens... unfortunately. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33397279/

If your adjusted p-values are capped at the smallest possible number that your computer can calculate (~ log10(p) = 307), that should be a sign that it was not a stringent statistic test. Pseudobulking goes a long way to solve this.
