Really happy to finally have this experiment published….. Diagnostic information can have an immediate effect on pain….. this should inform our clinical interactions. Spoiler alert: not only were the participants blinded, but they didn’t know the experiment was happening!

We simulated an episode of acute low back pain. We told one group that their tissues are just sensitive and they need to keep moving. We told the other group that their tissues were damaged and they need to rest and protect. Then, we tracked their pain. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…
