2003 season finale: peaked at 7.3 million viewers. every single one of those viewers tuned in knowing Matt Kenseth clinched the championship a week prior 2024 season finale with #NASCARplayoffs: 2.9 million viewers that’s not “moving forward” @DanielleTrotta
Each sentence of this tweet is its own separate disaster class. The NASCAR playoff structure not only devalues the championship itself, but also devalues all the early season races because the resulting point standings get washed away. It's trash, and it's crippled the sport!
At this point, I'm just hysterical 🤣. This team is so unserious. Is Mike trying to make a point? "This is the sh*t you've left me with AJ". Preller just DFA the guy and bring up Perlaza or Campy. Why are we giving 50 ABs to a perennial AAA player
Trenton fucken Brooks in important late game situations
How do you provide cover for Larry and Trotta and knock the championship format mess off of social media? Drop your San Diego announcement right on their timeslot. Totally unscripted and coincidental.
Danielle and @LarryMac28 breathing a sigh of relief that they can talk about this for their whole show instead of the awful comments they made yesterday on @SiriusXMNASCAR throwing shade on @markmartin / @dennyhamlin and the fans who want a legimate @NASCAR championship format
Covering this breaking news Live On Track now on @SiriusXMNASCAR Ch90 @LarryMac28
If i want imsa, I'll watch imsa. I want to watch 900 hp monsters, fight for grip because they can't put the power down. I want to see cars be able to get to bumpers. I want to see bump and runs. I want to see talladega decided by a guy going from 17th to 1st in 4 laps, not…
I didnt expect the segment I clipped of siriusxm NASCAR radio and shared with @markmartin to go off as hard as it did but im damn glad it did. Im happy many fans online also shared my disgust of the gaslighting by NASCAR into accepting their awful format. Keep being vocal, fans.
When we have discourse every year debating whether the champion actually deserves the title or not, it’s probably not the best format for the sport. NASCAR/NASCAR media have never been more disconnected from the fan base.
What started as a comment from Danielle Trotta on SiriusXM turned into a social media spat, as Mark Martin fired back and stood firm against the current playoff format, backing a return to the old points system. Was he right, or did this get blown out of proportion? Read the…
Shout out to Mark Martin. So many former drivers just fade away and you can't tell if they still care about NASCAR. Mark's from an era with bigger attendance and higher viewership and wants others to climb to the peaks that he and his peers reached. Gotta love the man's passion
Pretty much everyone online with even a small presence has said their peace about this and there’s a pretty clear consensus.
The majority of fans love the playoff
Does anyone find it even remotely strange that not one, NOT ONE, member of the motorsports media will disagree with, challenge or simply question ANYTHING the sanctioning body does? Is that even possible? Does it happen in any other sport?
I will go to my grave on @MarkMartin’s side on this. What it took to win a championship in the season-long format was intrinsically harder to do than what we have now. It didn’t feel like a random draw, it didn’t come with a 17th place average finish. You had to be near flawless.
Mark you know I love you but what we got is a whole lot better than what we used to do. We need a playoff we need eliminations we need to reward winning and consistency. This format does it all & is highly entertaining!
"We need playoffs" Meanwhile... Nobody gives a fuck about it lol. Wasnt the whole point of creating it was to make people tune in more towards the end of the season....? It failed at that.Point blank period.Besides saying its entertaining what postives has it done for NASCAR?

Mark Martin doesn’t need anyone to stick up for him. But I’ll say this: If anything, a driver passionately arguing in favor of a format in which they never won a title actually only increases the credibility of their argument.
Many of us know exactly who @LarryMac28 and @DanielleTrotta are throwing shade on here. A hall of fame @NASCAR driver. How dare they show their disdain like that. @SiriusXMNASCAR should be ASHAMED of this content. What a disgusting thing to say about that man. Awful
