The Government needs to stop fighting abuse survivors and take immediate steps to acknowledge and address the chronic, vicious physical abuse that pervaded Ireland’s education system.

It is a poor reflection on successive Irish governments that our national anthem Amhrán na bhFiann is not on the curriculum - a clear lack of respect for Ireland’s proud Republican heritage. I call for it to be added to the curriculum so every child has the opportunity to learn
