@MatthewGress
State Rep for #LD4 Arizona House. Fmr public school teacher/school board member. Budget hawk. Fighting to protect the Arizona we know & love. #DitatDeus
The latest batch of votes are in, and we are WAY up in #LD4! I am so grateful you have re-hired me as your state representative with wide support across our community. I’ll continue working for YOU! On this campaign, we talked about common sense — we didn’t sling mud. I can’t…

After seeing the contempt @NEAToday has shown @ADL at their annual meeting, this 2025 union handbook is yet another sign that NEA is an extremist, discriminatory organization. @ArizonaEA, do you think NEA should change its handbook to, at the very least, acknowledge that the…

Agreed!
This week’s Audit Committee hearing was one of the most bizarre hearings I’ve attended. Check out the recap below! 👇👇👇
“Unusual real estate transactions, questionable dual roles held by public school officials, and disturbing conflicts of interest involving the Superintendent demand immediate answers and corrective action.” Agree 💯💯💯
🚨 Transparency and accountability are non-negotiable. JLAC’s findings on Tolleson Union High School District’s unusual dealings and conflicts of interest demand immediate answers. Full statement from Chairwoman @GinaSwoboda 👇 azgop.com/jlac-examinati…

🚨The #AZLeg's Joint Legislative Audit Committee (JLAC) examined the novel actions and dealings of Tolleson Union High School District (TUHSD). Unusual real estate transactions, a Superintendent with two private consulting firms, staff with dual roles working for the district and…

It's unbelievable that @NEAToday would push something like this. The teacher's union doesn't represent all teachers and certainly, not all families in public school!
Disgraceful! Every teacher who is a member of NEA should ask themselves if they are comfortable supporting an organization that is now blatantly, and unapologetically, anti-Semitic.

*Another* apparent conflict of interest?? 😑 The brazenness of these transactions is astounding. I’ve sent this new information to the Auditor General.
Anyone talking about Calles’ other company, ngsb.io/our-story? VP is Chief Growth Offcr for Progressive Roofing. How much money has Tolleson or schools that Calles’ companies do financials for spent with Progressive Roofing? Any conflict of interest forms filed?
@MatthewGress @RealMarkFinchem if Tolleson Sup Calles has nothing to hide why has his True Professionals website which was previously active been taken down?
The Honorable Rachel Walden @waldenpatriot hits the nail on the head, once again. It is important to elect governing board members who will provide strong financial oversight and ensure districts are hiring good superintendents to lead our school districts. Accountability &…
Representative Gress summed up Tolleson School District at a JLAC hearing yesterday. “Here, you have not been able to demonstrate the $25 million financial transaction benefitting Tolleson Union students directly, given that you have no square footage, you’re not providing any…
🤯🤯🤯
This superintendent stood in front of JLAC and spoke to them like they were fools. He’s got a full-blown god complex and acts like he is the law. We’ve watched a lot of these hearings, but this one takes the cake. Absolutely wild.

Defiant Tolleson Union school superintendent endures 3-hour legislative hearing, with city manager, police chief, former supe aligned against him. State audit of district is expected. 12news.com/article/news/e…
Rep. Matt Gress: “This Seems Predatory” Tolleson Superintendent in Hot Seat at JLAC Hearing open.substack.com/pub/state48new…
I wonder what other school districts are operating in this manner? It’s time for a comprehensive audit of all school districts in AZ. Money spent on schools should be benefiting students and teachers, not lining the pockets of corrupt admins and contractors.
This super is making over $360k in salary and over $400k from the Tolleson taxpayers. Imagine what his business is making off of all the other districts.
He owns True Professionals Consulting and sells his services and other district CFO services to smaller districts at a hefty price. Ftn Hills has paid dearly for the services of True Professionals Consulting. The grift of taxpayer money must be exposed.
💯💯💯
Probably not a surprise to say, but I think Tolleson deserves a full time chief administrator.
This is a problem in public education. Many executive employees have consulting hustles and work during school hours. Thank you, Representative Matt Gress, for exposing this!
Happening now at AZ Leg - Tolleson superintendent Jeremy Calles being asked if he takes calls for his consulting business for other school districts (Ftn Hills included) while being paid by the taxpayers of Tolleson. Time for fines & firings to happen azleg.gov/videoplayer/?c…
