One thing economists bring to the table besides any specific finding from the literature is explicitly using models to think through stuff, which can be both usefully constraining (cut down on BS) and quite generative (see problems in new ways)

the outfit @DKThomp has been wearing to promote his book is very nice. the jacket has a nice shape, the shirt collar points reach the lapels, and the knit tie is a very tasteful, sophisticated choice.
Some helpful terminology here. A “Type III error” is when you call a “Type I error” a “Type II error”. A “Type IV error” is when you call a “Type II error” a “Type I error”.
I will never understand why statisticians say “Type I error” and Type II error” when false positive and false negative are the same number of syllables and self-defining
