So sorry to hear of the passing of Peter Ryan..over 45 years , mostly at the ABC, a doyen of business journalism and a distinguished foreign correspondent. But also such a decent bloke ..always up for a chat , always generous with his time ..an absolute ornament to our game .

159k for 10 NEWS+ last night. This is an unmitigated disaster that just about everyone could see coming. But for those who think 10 should have stuck with The Project, no, it was too expensive. 10 just stuffed up with the replacement.
 I find it so sad that Network Ten has stuffed up another news experiment. In 2011 a news revolution was launched by George Negus. It peaked at 600,000 viewers but within 3 weeks had sunk to below the top 100 weekly programs. The rest is history…is history repeating?

A coin was tossed between 2 news editors at ATN7 (Sydney) and HSV7 (Melbourne). The coin spun several times until the Sydney voice simply said “It’s heads for Shackleton”. 50 years ago (Oct 16) he and 4 other journalists were killed in Balibo. A sad chapter for all of us.
