I agree calling women liars isn’t a good move.
A report by Garda commissioner is not independent. Hardly surprising an internal investigation will exonerate Garda. Also this is said at AGSI conference by minister to curry favour as morale is low. Calling women liars is not a good move. #Believewomen irishexaminer.com/news/arid-4161…

E-bike & scrambler incidents seem to be an everyday occurrence-reaching crisis levels. Another member injured in hit-and-run. Who is going to take action?. Our members safety is non-negotiable.

We wish our colleague in the DMRW a speedy recovery- The hazardous nature of being a Garda in today’s society. Government must recognise the role and provide the necessary supports for us to keep people safe.
Today’s serious injury sustained by a member of the Finglas Drugs Unit in Dublin once again serves as a sad and stark reminder of the dangers faced by our colleagues on a daily basis. We wish him a full recovery and commend his colleagues in DMRW that intervened. #GRARep #AGS
Mark O’Meara, GRA President: “We have been numbed by the sudden and devastating loss of our colleague in such tragic circumstances. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kevin, his wife and children. We have lost a great friend and colleague and he will never be forgotten.”#GRARep
Shocking to see yet another dangerous pursuit where lives are put at risk—both Gardaí and the public. The lengths some will go to avoid arrest highlight the urgent need for a robust, nationwide training framework for pursuit driving.
Gardaí pursue a car on the M1
My first priority as Minister for Justice is to get more Gardaí on our streets. Garda recruitment is now open. It’s a job worth doing.
Proper pursuit training was recommended years ago. Yet here we are in 2025 - no such training exists, officers waiting for basic response courses, and a new policy that criminals are exploiting. These incidents show the real-world impact.
The Garda Representative Association has already said the new policy on pursuits is ‘unworkable’ and there is no doubt that the policy is playing into the hands of the gang and others like them m.sundayworld.com/crime/irish-cr…

Thanks to @robin_schiller_ for a fair, accurate and balanced article on a serious concern with @gardarep members.
Widespread concern among gardai over a new pursuit policy which is leading to drivers who fail to stop not being pursued. @gardarep delegate @MFerris11 says it is unworkable. m.independent.ie/irish-news/cri…
Illegal scramblers circling Garda car, taunting members.Scenes like this are a daily feature. Can't pursue due to safety risks & fear of repercussions.Stronger laws, meaningful support and pursuit training to tackle this.Policies are only as good as the training that supports them

@gardarep tells political parties that “words and soundbites” about increasing garda numbers won’t solve the crisis in garda recruitment and retention and has urged them instead to implement specific measures #GE24 irishexaminer.com/news/arid-4152…

Important to raise awareness of an issue that isn't going away. Thanks to @LizDunphy1 for this coverage.
Garda recruitment and retention crisis being intensified by attempted erosion of entitlements, GRA's @MFerris11 says as fears grow that thousands of gardaí will be eligible to retire in next five years irishexaminer.com/news/arid-4149…
The time has passed for discussion on riot helmets for frontline gardai said @MFerris11 in today's MoS. The det gda questioned why oversight reports conducted following last year's Dublin riots have not led to recommendations and policies 'actually being implemented'.
We remember Colm, taken so brutally from his family, friends, community and colleagues 4 years ago today.
Thanks to @SteeBreen for airing the serious concerns expressed by the @gardarep at conference 2024 regarding the injuries some of our members are subject to within AGS.
Frontline Gardai have urged Garda Commissioner Drew Harris to provide safer vehicles for the transfer of prisoners. Our images show the injuries suffered by one female garda after she was bitten by a violent prisoner. Full story here. @gardarep @MFerris11
