Really exciting work from @JudithSimcox lab. Check it out!
Thrilled to have our story on the regulation of lysosomal lipids out in @Cell_Metabolism! The work was led by two outstanding grad students @_JessDavidson and Raghav Jain probing mechanistic control of energy expenditure @HHMINEWS @UWBiochem
Incredibly grateful for this support which will allow us to extend our work into a new direction: neurodegeneration
PSF is thrilled to share the six winners of our 2025 MIND Prize! We are excited to introduce these forward-thinking scientists from across the country. Please join us in congratulating: pershingsquarephilanthropies.org/news/the-persh…

One of the best descriptions of Science in the US that I have seen in a while
Things I wish more people knew about doing science in the US (thread):
In search of Native biologists at *any* career stage to add to the Full Circle community of indigenous scholars in bio. Please share this opportunity far and wide.
We will be hosting 3rd Full Circle Symposium for Native Biologists hosted at UCSF in April 2025! We aim to build community and provide opportunities for Native biologists. If you are a Native biologist who is interested fill this out to stay up to date: forms.gle/AN7nfkhdB3Fvdk…

My cup of inspiration and resilience has been refilled by a few days with these folks, including Dr. Freeman Hrabowski III himself. I love being a part of the @HHMINEWS family.
Wonderful to see the 2023 @HHMINEWS #FHScholars with the ever inspiring Freeman A. Hrabowski III. Scientists who understand that inclusive science is excellent science.
As a recovering neuronal chauvinist I was amazed at the glial heterogeneity revealed by the brilliant @meschro in this project. We find extensive customization of astrocytes across development and between species. Why, how, and when does this happen? Let us know what you think 🧐
Very excited to share our pre-print and my thesis work on the postnatal development of astrocyte regional heterogeneity, which includes an integrated dataset of >1.4 million single nuclei transcriptomes in mouse and marmoset brains (now available online)! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
What looks like liquid frozen in time are actually cells in the brain’s visual cortex called OPCs! The Cheadle lab is investigating these fluid cells’ role in health and disease. @LucasCheadle cshl.edu/one-experiment…
