I want young Londoners and their European counterparts to be able to enjoy the opportunities offered by living, working and traveling freely. A EU-UK mobility scheme is the right thing for our young people. And it's good for the economy and growth.
A new youth mobility scheme with the EU would boost growth not only in London, but across Britain and Europe. Amid global uncertainty, closer EU ties are a win-win for our future prosperity. ⬇️ lbc.co.uk/opinion/views/…
My official statement on today’s reports that the Met are considering closing over half of our police stations👇

I recognise there are financial pressures but this cut goes to the heart of trust and confidence in the Met. It is important that there is at least one physical contact point where people can go to talk and provide documents with police officers. This needs urgent rethinking.

At the 7/7 Memorial in Hyde Park, I joined the Prime Minister and representatives of our emergency services to lay a wreath to honour the 52 people whose lives were cruelly stolen. Our thoughts and prayers remain with all of their loved ones and all those who were injured.
Today we remember the 7/7 bombings 20 years on. I still have lots of memories of that awful day. Earlier today, I laid a wreath and represented the London Assembly at a very moving memorial service. We’ve come out stronger in tackling terrorism and hate in all its forms since.
Proud to represent the London Assembly at the Armed Forces Day Ceremony at City Hall, in support of our armed forces - regular and reservists.

We need the Government to work with the Mayor in understanding this important research on the impact of government proposals
I'm calling on the Government to urgently rethink its proposed changes to welfare. Analysis of the proposals shows that the impact will be substantial, destroying the financial safety net for too many disabled Londoners ⬇️

VE Day marked the end of war in Europe, a time of joy, relief, & celebrations. We remember those who gave their lives & fought for British values. Communities gathered in hope. Troops would return. Families to be reunited. We honour their courage & fight. Lest we forget.
On this 80th anniversary of VE Day, we remember the extraordinary generation of men and women, when our country stood alone and later with our allies, defeated those who waged war by persecuting and murdering millions of people. We will Remember their sacrifices.
An honour to deliver the keynote speech at the London Assembly 25th Anniversary AGM Meeting. The GLA plays a crucial role in scrutinising the work of the Mayor & its functional bodies, working cross party in the interest of our great city. London is the city of the world 🌎
The London Assembly is 25! The 2025-2026 Assembly term began yesterday with new Chairs and Deputy Chairs confirmed during its Annual Meeting. Find out more about how the Assembly works for Londoners here: london.gov.uk/who-we-are/wha…
Delighted that since yesterday, children at 11 schools in my constituency will benefit from two free meals a day thanks to Labour’s policies. This is the difference a Labour Government and Labour Mayor make.
Thanks to City Hall funding, children in London’s state primary schools already receive a free school lunch every day. Starting today, pupils at 80 of these schools will also benefit from a healthy breakfast too.
