Just posted! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…. How do #neurons wire up during #development at the right time in the right place? We looked at glutamatergic excitatory synapses in the hippocampus in vivo and found an unexpected role for NMDA receptors in a very early ‘critical window’🧵
Our study on the impact of altered serotonin (5-HT) signalling on developing sensory cortex is now live @NatureComms We use longitudinal in vivo imaging of 5-HT & neural activity to show that this neuromodulator is buffered in early life to promote bottom-up instruction.
Hiring! Postdoc position in Human Metabolism! Join us to explore the metabolic underpinnings of human brain & behavior; focusing on anxiety & motivation Outstanding interdisciplinary environment @Brainmind_EPFL @EPFL_en in Lausanne Switzerland Info here: fens.org/careers/job-ma…
(1/3) Excited to introduce our new GRAB sensors for a series of steroid hormones! These tools enable real-time detection of steroid hormone dynamics in vivo🐭🧠.Happy to share these sensors and welcome any feedback! Please contact [email protected] for information.
I'm excited to share my new post on @focalplane_jcs where I explore the powerful role of microscopy in neuroscience, and how we can use different imaging approaches to study synaptic connections in the brain. focalplane.biologists.com/2025/06/23/ill…

In our Neurodevelopment session: Prof Jack Parent on using brain organoids to model developmental epilepsies, Prof Kevin Bender explores SCN2A’s role in epilepsy & autism, and Dr Federica Riccio reveals how HCN1 hyperactivity may drive #Dravet syndrome. #EpilepsyWeek
Thrilled to share that our latest work on #DravetSyndrome is now out as a preprint! 🚀 This project, brilliantly led by @ClaraZourray and co-supervised by Serena Barral, brought together an incredible team. A huge thanks to everyone involved! shorturl.at/NdC79
New paper from Julie Jézéquel and the @Rico_lab on role of cadherins in neuronal inhibition out now in @NatureComms! rdcu.be/el18f
I am delighted to share our last preprint with you: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… This study examines the impact of adolescent vaporised Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) exposure on ethanol self-administration in rats and the interactions with naltrexone efficacy.
A collaborative study from the Molnár, Mann, Bannerman and Lak laboratories has uncovered a previously overlooked population of brain cells that could play a critical role in how we experience stress and anxiety - doi.org/10.1038/s41398…). Read more dpag.ox.ac.uk/news/molnar-ma…
