@Kimberleyerrin2
our son died after undoubted failings in care at NUH in 2020. supporting families and pushing to make birth safer.
“If they are found guilty of serious misconduct”.. who will be judge and jury on this? NHS managers need regulation but being found guilty implies the harm is already done. What about before they even get through the door? Hope @The_HCPC has got more teeth than @gmcuk and @nmc
🚨 Senior NHS managers are to be regulated by the @The_HCPC with a barring list to prevent those guilty of misconduct from working again in the NHS. @wesstreeting says this "will slam the door in the face of unsuitable managers"
The way to solve this wasn’t to obliterate secondary victim claims it was to reduce defendant’s unreasonable costs and tackle the problem at its source by improving maternity care @wesstreeting #maternitysafety #secondaryvictims #primaryvictims #neglect #right2recover
The scandal here is how much money @NHSResolution pay to defend cases at all costs. Why on earth are top legal experts being instructed by the defence at inquests of our avoidably dead babies? What about the victims erased by the 2024 Supreme Court ruling on secondary victims?
“It should be a matter of national shame that we now spend more on maternity litigation than the total cost of running maternity services.” theguardian.com/society/2025/j…

Maternity: Right to Recover campaign We’re victims of maternity neglect, harmed, bereaved, and left psychologically scarred but unable to recover due to an inequity in law. Seeking recognition, reform, and the chance to rebuild our lives. #insightToimpactMatNeo #RighttoRecover
The Families Failed by OUH Maternity Services campaign was recently told by an ‘adviser’ that the public & media are not interested in cases on non-catastrophic harm or even near misses when we raised the harm caused by forceps. 🧵 #BirthTrauma #MaternitySafety #MaternityScandal
If you’re unsure why we’re still calling for a public inquiry, this article goes into a bit about what the differences are and why. Only a PI will hold people to account and that is why so many are resistant
National #maternityinvestigation or #maternityinquiry - which one has @wesstreeting announced this week? My article unpicks the difference with some personal thoughts both as a professional #maternity lawyer & also a harmed family: tinyurl.com/Maternity-inve…
They had to find another way to murder or terrify us in to silence. Burning and drowning now off the cards…should have done a better job of finishing us off though. Wounded animals fear less and fight harder
After years of campaigning about maternity & birth rights, I’ve learned so many hard truths. It’s given me an insight into what’s holding back change in maternity care and why real progress demands systemic solutions & culture change. 🧵 #maternitysafety #BirthTrauma
Well said. It’s an insult and quite egotistical to compare one’s own small prod at maternity to the work of Donna Ockenden. Makes me so nervous when people start trying to shut this down from the start.
Theo is wrong here. Badly wrong. @wesstreeting's announcement today certainly falls short of what is needed to make maternity care safe, but the idea that we know everything already only goes to show a lack of understanding of the depth, breadth & complexity of failings in care.
