Another new work from Xin! STARmap and RIBOmap in thick tissues (200 μm!!)
Excited to share Deep-STARmap and Deep-RIBOmap! We enabled spatial transcriptomic and translatomic mapping of >1K genes in 200 µm thick tissue and neuron morphology co-profiling. Thanks @WangXiaoLab for unwavering support; Jennifer for human skin study! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Such a well deserved honor for my amazing colleague. She is helping us see into the organization of cells in the brain and in modifying RNA to increase protein production!
Congratulations to @WangXiaoLab, who has been named a 2024 Sloan Research Fellow by @SloanFoundation! Fellows are chosen in recognition of their creativity, innovation, and research accomplishments. chemistry.mit.edu/chemistry-news…
Congrats Yuting!
Our research is online! We show that while young HSCs are fairly uniform, old HSCs harbor both “old” and “younger” subsets. Reducing the “old” subset alleviates aging phenotypes in old mice! doi.org/10.1038/s41422…
The new Dr. Hailing Shi’s lab at @EmoryUniversity is hiring at all levels! @HailingShi is so knowledge and such a wonderful person to work with! Please check out the lab description here. #newPI

Check it out: a paper outlining a new computational method (known as CAST) from the @WangXiaoLab was recently published in @naturemethods! chemistry.mit.edu/chemistry-news…
Spatial omics technology is transforming our understanding of in situ RNA biology. We are grateful for the opportunity to publish this review in @MolecularCell. We hope this will be a useful resource for the community. @HailingShi @nemo08061 @WangXiaoLab

New method that detects single-nucleotide variation by in situ sequencing! Congrats Xin🎉
Excited to share SWITCH-seq, a multiplexed in situ RNA sequencing method that discerns single-base variations in rRNA. Very honored to work with @D_Rothschild_ , and Theo. Thanks, @WangXiaoLab and @mbarnalab for the incredible support and guidance.
Huge congratulations, Xiao!
Congratulations to Xiao Wang (@WangXiaoLab), the Cabot Assistant Professor of Chemistry and a Core Member of @broadinstitute , who has been promoted to Associate Professor With Tenure, effective July 1, 2024. chemistry.mit.edu/chemistry-news…
Congrats everyone!
54 graduates from the Chemistry Department received their advanced degrees and doctoral hoods yesterday! Congratulations to our newly minted PhDs and SMs! chemistry.mit.edu/chemistry-news…
Thrilled (and a little late) to share that I’ve successfully defended my PhD thesis 🎓 My heartfelt thanks to my committee, mentors and everyone who supported me along the journey🥹

Congratulations Xiao!
Congratulations to Professor @WangXiaoLab, who has been honored as “Committed to Caring”. The Committed to Caring (C2C) program is a student-driven initiative that celebrates faculty members who have served as exceptional mentors to graduate students. chemistry.mit.edu/chemistry-news…
Why can RNA only be linear or circular? It can be branched! We made multi-tailed mRNA, and we had fun! Here is our story led by brilliant graduate student @HongyuChenChem: rdcu.be/dB7ck and his cartoon illustration👇@ChemistryMIT @broadinstitute
Thrilled to see our work on chemically and topologically engineered mRNA online! Using a chemo-enzymatic approach, we introduced multiple end-modified polyA tails on a single mRNA to boost its stability and translatability overtime. nature.com/articles/s4158…
Excited about my upcoming seminar on spatial transcriptomics and cell atlas! 🧬🔬 I will introduce the cool technologies to the general public. Join me as we delve into the fascinating world of cellular biology and explore spatial omic technologies @SITNBoston.

🔬My sc/spatial genomics lab (Launch at #Stanford on Dec. 16) is seeking experimental RAs & post-docs in genomics & dev bio. Come to work with me and a vibrant team of sys biologists, ML experts, etc. to push the boundaries of gene regulation of development & disease. #HiringNow
Check out the beautiful work spearheaded by @HailingShi @yiyiyihe @Yiming_Zhou_PhD🎉🎉
Huge congrats to Hailing and the whole team, and thanks so much for the suggestions and help from the editor, reviewers, and colleagues through the long journey! Spatial atlas of the mouse central nervous system at molecular resolution: rdcu.be/dnaYu
To fill the gap in cross-sample, cross-technology, and single-cell level spatial analyses, we created CAST to search, match, and visualize both similarities and differences of spatial molecular features across multiple samples. 1/5 @WangXiaoLab @tangzefang
