To all the physicians out there, quick to tell a patient they are just anxious or depressed, here is a message to you. Just because a patient's physical symptoms are difficult to pinpoint does not mean they are psychosomatic. Please understand the consequences of writing…
In my opinion, postpartum psychosis, depression and anxiety are brain disorders with pathophysiology of hormonal influence on the brain. I am sorry, but I can't see these as "psychiatric" illnesses as these are biologically and physiologically-based brain disorders.
Postpartum psychosis & depression deserve much more attention than they get: 1)Harmful to mother/baby/their bonding 2)Significant suicide/violence risk 3)Screening for psych symptoms should be routine part of all perinatal care 4)Very treatable, especially if caught early

Thankfully, some physicians will set their ego aside and listen without judgment.
Some patients fear they will upset their physician, so they remain silent.
The lack of an accurate diagnosis can not only cause psychological damage but also physical damage.

Oh look, the same outdated nonsense stuff that we heard on #POTS 20 years ago is now being promoted on #LongCOVID by the same authors. The Grinch syndrome and the evil Dr. Seuss are back. 🤣🤣🙄 onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1086/68…
Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) result in an immune response that can become dysregulated, leading to neuroinflammation. Could the first ever licensed treatment for TBI be a nasal spray? Harvard scientists evaluated the efficacy of Foralumab delivered by nasal spray in a mouse…
I am not promoting outdated nonsense on my account.
