Love that my housing twitter feed shows my city hall. That was not on my bingo card
Arrived 11:38 AM Left at 11:52 AM Plans approved, business license paid for, and permit fees paid . Ready to start work. City made $585 in less than 15 minutes. Tell me why more cities can’t do this?
We pride ourselves on delivering clients strong ROI—but nothing compares to the joy of telling a 79-year-old she’ll be home for Christmas.
Oh boy. @McDonalds and @Wendys got some explaining to do.
SB 79 passed its final policy committee! Next steps: Assembly Appropriations -> Assembly Floor -> Senate concurrence -> Governor

SENATOR @Scott_Wiener: By valuing everything else over housing affordability—local control, character, parking, views—as opposed to the fact that it is so damn expensive, we are pushing the fabric out of California, people who don't see a future in this state. 🔥 🔥 🔥
“I don’t care how much you love working people. They can’t afford a house because all the rules in your state make it prohibitive to build. And zoning prevents multifamily structures because of NIMBY."
We are on the receiving end of some big league cognitive dissonance from both certain CEQA consultants and cities about the new AB130 CEQA exemption. Sorry folks but its the law. Adopted for a very good and intentional reason. Now implement it and dont f—- around!
Good morning! This is a public service announcement that as of 12am today, infill housing projects under 85ft are no longer subject to the California Environmental Quality Act!
I honestly can barely believe this happened. Total YIMBY victory in California today. After Newsom signs this bill; CEQA will no longer apply to *any* infill housing under 85’. No inclusionary zoning or labor provisions.
The impossible has become possible: we've passed a clean CEQA infill exemption. This is probably the most important thing California has done on housing in the present YIMBY moment.
In my lifetime there have been just a few things I saw but still couldn’t believe were real: Jordan flu game, Red Sox ‘04 comeback agains the Yankees, Tiger ‘97 Masters, and @BuffyWicks making infill housing CEQA exempt. Bravo to the team at @cayimby

Together, we saved 100% of funding for Bringing Families Home in the 2025-26 CA budget! That's $81 Million for unhoused families! Special thanks to Asm Mark González @AsmMarkGonzalez , Sen Sasha Renée Pérez @senatorsrp & the whole #BFH coalition for their unwavering support.
We are on the cusp of the most significant housing reform in CA in our lifetime, excellent summary below by @CSElmendorf
An update on California's CEQA / housing package as we hurtle toward the finish line. tldr: @BuffyWicks's CEQA infill exemption is now *even better* than the 6/24 draft ⤵️; and it looks like @Scott_Wiener will land most of the fish in SB 607 but not the real lunker. 🧵/25
