The National Cancer Institute long credited with driving down U.S. cancer death rates, is facing massive upheaval from deep funding cuts. Grants have been abruptly terminated, key employees laid off, and essential patient resources left unmaintained. kffhealthnews.org/news/article/l…

Funny how @nature publishes a commentary like this, but the journal itself refuses to publish negative results except through a byzantine 'matters arising' process that takes years nature.com/articles/d4158…
America needs to wake up and listen to Francis Collins. We are losing a jewel.
After 32 years at the National Institutes of Health, including as director, Dr Francis Collins retired this year. “It became untenable,” he says. “Restrictions were placed on the research we were trying to do… Staff were being fired with no justification… We were also muzzled.”
One of the most complex regions in the human genome revealed. To me, it was fascinating to combine genome assembly and pangenome graphs (PGR-TK in Fig. 3e) algorithm techniques to uncover the hidden diversity across human populations. #genomics #bioinformatics
Here is my critical review of this preprint: scienceintegritydigest.com/2025/07/25/pre…
This new preprint was designed so poorly that it provides absolutely no proof that mRNA vaccines caused cancer/other diseases. It compared 10 (!) handpicked sick patients to 803 healthy patients. And behold, they show different RNA expression profiles. Because they were sick.

Humble brag…They won’t believe a little girl from Kenya built the orchestration engine for this, but I did!
Google right now has ~1 million (H100 equivalent) Ironwood v7 TPUs and 500K H100 GPUs online. With 400-600K NVIDIA Blackwell (GB200 NVL72 racks) GPUs incoming. So total compute capacity = 2 million H100 equivalents by end of year. They will spend $85 billion in 2025 (raised…
Cervical cancer is being defeated thanks to two things: Pap smears and the Gardasil vaccine. HPV vaccination is so effective that many countries will have practically eliminated cervical cancer in the next two decades. Here's why🧵

SO IMPORTANT!!!
bioRxiv has a dedicated section for negative results. Use it. Share negative results. Your colleagues will appreciate it.
A neural network is not a “being”, @geoffreyhinton, any more than a Tetris app on your phone is. (Reinstall Tetris and it comes back to life!)
Geoffrey Hinton says LLMs are immortal. Destroy the hardware, save the weights. Rebuild them later, and “the very same being comes back to life.” But humans don't work that way. We're bound to our substrate. Not even Kurzweil gets a backup.
It’s because the corrupt wellness/influencer industry purchases what they can in bulk at low cost - generic antiparasitics like ivermectin hydroxychloroquine fenbendazole fit the bill - then they jack up the price and pair the meds with expensive telehealth visits. It’s pure scam
