This is jaw dropping level stuff!
Excited to share our pre-print on the molecular architecture of heterochromatin in human cells🧬🔬 w/ @jpkreysing, Johannes Betz,Turoňová lab, @MarinaLusic, Hummer lab, @Beck_Laboratory, @MPIbp 🔗 Preprint here: doi.org/10.1101/2025.0…
Excited to see our work published in @ScienceAdvances! We present RBPseg, a method for structural prediction of #phage receptor-binding proteins. We applied it to diverse tail fibers and validated the predicted structures using #cryoEM. Read here: science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
Exited to share our preprint on the structure of a Salmonella contractile injection system 🥳 Wonderful work by first author @Rooshanie Ejaz and @CloudyKielkopf, @freddie__martin, @HangryHobbit, @RebrovaEva, great collab with @Salmo_Lab @UCPH_CPR #cryoem shorturl.at/QHLpm
Congratulations to first author Leyre Arraiza and all co-authors for our preprint on the structure of a PVC of Photorhabdus luminescens in extended and contracted states! @UCPH_CPR #cryoEM @cryoEM_Papers shorturl.at/Gqmhm
Excited to announce that collaborative work between the Bostina lab (@mihnea_bostina) and PHI lab (@PeterFineran) at @otago and the Wolf lab (@HiCryoEM) at @OISTedu, has been published in Nature Communications. Congratulations all :) nature.com/articles/s4146…
Very stoked to finally have my first co-first author manuscript published with PNAS nexus. We describe the phiM1 virion structure with a focus on the ejectosome, showing considerable structural variance relative to phage t7. academic.oup.com/pnasnexus/arti…
Late post: Had the absolute mega opportunity to attend the 2024 FASEB conference on Virus Structure and Assembly. I presented our upcoming publication, and was fortunate to be awarded travel scholarship funding in the closing ceremonies. Big thanks to the FASEB organizers :)

Excited to have created my first GitHub repository today. My script generates a spectrum of capsid vertex coordinates in @UCSFChimeraX , and prints their coordinates for use in asymmetric reconstruction workflows. I2 symmetry is currently required. github.com/JimHBean/capsi…

Come see our poster at lorne proteins. Beach A, near the crabs and seaweed @LorneProteins

Delayed Hanmer Springs @nzsbmb conference post. Was absolutely delighted with last weeks talks and with the opportunity to present one of our exciting recent phage projects.

Excited for our upcoming Phage Bites session that will be running online next week! See our student/ECR presentations that will be followed by a panel discussion of 'Standardisation in Phage Therapy' Aus/NZ - There is still time to register to attend!: forms.gle/99K754woh8CKKP…
