The Triple Lock is part of the 'spiralling welfare' bill. The State Pension is a benefit and the Triple Lock is unsustainable.
It would be wrong to scrap the pensions triple lock to cover the cost of spiralling welfare. Pensioners on fixed incomes shouldn’t pay the price for a broken system.

"Enforced compulsory voting" makes it sound scare, but it just means "you get a $20 fine if you don't vote, oh and also voting is made extremely easy and convenient" It's a great mechanism for increasing political engagement and improving democratic outcomes.
Every country should enforce compulsory voting
Despite the relentless doom from the market-crashing right wing; the 2025 forecast shows the UK in a relative strong position under @UKLabour 👇
By the next General Election, 16 and 17 year olds will have the right to vote - ensuring young peoples' voices are heard. We promised it. We will deliver it.
I for one would rather trust 16-18 year-olds to vote for their future, than many of my own generation who stupidly voted to go back to some fantasy vision of their own past - robbing the former of a lot of the rights and opportunities they themselves had in the process
Business confidence in the UK is at a nine-year high. You will not have seen that in our toxic media, including the suborned BBC, but it is in fact true.
In case you’re wondering why Reform are so exercised? YouGov crosstabs • 18-24 voting intention 🟥 LAB: 28% (-13) 🟩 GRN: 26% (+8) 🟧 LDM: 20% (+4) 🟦 CON: 9% (+1) ➡️ RFM: 8% (-1) +/- vs. GE2024 Fieldwork: 13-14 July, 2025
A lot of politicians and political commentators whingeing about Starmer giving the vote to 16 year-olds. There are decent arguments on either side, but the policy is literally in the Labour manifesto.
Labour didn’t preside over the breach - that was 2022 under @Conservatives Labour didn’t impose the injunction - that was 2023 under @Conservatives Labour didn’t appeal the court’s decision to lift it - that was May 2024 under @Conservatives Labour reviewed it + lifted it
Wasn't she a Tory when this happened?
This is a national scandal. £7 billion of taxpayers money has been spent importing 24,000 Afghan migrants — with no security checks on who is coming into our country. For two years, the then Tory government covered it up. Only Reform UK will put British people first. Sign our…
