Berneray West Beach recently - washed up in the surf but still alive in the midst of a jellyfish and By-the-wind Sailor wreck. I assumed a sea spider or spider crab but I haven't managed to pin it down. Help welcome! @mcsuk @MARINElife_UK
Rummaging around in the dunes at Berneray led to gems, not least masses of Adders Tongues. I'm sure there were Dwarf ones in there somewhere but I couldn't track them down. Also some lovely Amphibious Bistort, orchids everywhere and swathes of Ragged Robin.

Two decades of tireless work restoring habitat & creating eco-mooring sites (so boats' anchors don't tear seagrass out by the roots) by @seahorsecharity & @NOCnews, has paid off with a spectacular summer of seahorses off the Dorset coast this year 🌊 share.google/EeKyHpTRJ3QcDw…
Still puzzling over some things washed ashore on Berneray's West Beach. Sea slug for 2 maybe? Oyster Thief for 3 perhaps but I have no idea on 1 or 4, although they might not be in a good enough condition to be identified.

My Berneray West Beach visit luckily coincided with a wreck of By-the-Wind Sailors, freshly washed ashore. Never seen so many! I wasn't lucky with Violet Sea Snails, although I know they were found that day but great to find Buoy Barnacles mixed in

Wonderful start to the day with the release of 25/ 32 Head Start Curlew recovery project #Curlews. It took them a few moments to realise the roof netting was gone before taking flight, circling the meadow & heading towards The Swale salting. #conservation @KentishPlover 1/2
