New research tracks how empathic disequilibrium, the balance between emotional and cognitive empathy, shifts from age 3-12: link.springer.com/article/10.100…
A huge thank you to @estherina_t and @NimrodHertz ! Excited to echo this ECR voice. Here’s to many more wonderful future collaborations ahead! 🎉
What began as a hallway chat at @mrccbu with @IdoShal grew to a deep conversation and turned into a BNA insight paper. We explored subjectivity in neuroscience from the voices of ECRs. Endless thanks, dearest Ido, and @NimrodHertz @BritishNeuro journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/23…
Finally published! In a longitudinal study (N=250) we show that empathy development is a dynamic, bidirectional process. We found that children's cognitive empathy buffered personal distress for mothers at high risk for maltreatment. journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.11… @Meidan_Adi @IdoShal
Patient priorities for interoception research, just out in Lancet @eClinicalMed 🧠🫁🫀 ⬇️⬇️⬇️ — the first pub from our @wellcometrust Mental Health Award Led by the brilliant @gabriel_mackie & @LydiaJHickman
🚨 New paper 🚨 How do people with mental health conditions experience bodily signals, and what are their priorities for interoceptive research? These questions are what @LydiaJHickman and my new paper in eClinicalMedicine tries to answer. 🧵 1/8 sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

So proud to be part of this study with the amazing Dan Aizenberg, @FUzefovsky, and Dr. Alal Eran leading the way.
This study identified two distinct groups among individuals with delayed autism diagnosis: one with lower support needs and fewer comorbidities, and another with higher support needs and more comorbidities. ja.ma/4fVr1Pd

New paper led by Yael Dann in collaboration with bestie @FUzefovsky looking at paternal depressive symptoms and infants' early empathy responses (spoiler: not necessarily what you would expect). onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/ps…
New paper alert! Our findings challenge the deficit-oriented view of empathy in schizophrenia. Instead, we suggest individuals with schizophrenia tend to show a different reorganisation of emotions and cognitions when facing others' feelings. Check it out!
Schizophrenia is complex, but empathic disequilibrium may hold the key to understanding some of the related social challenges. Check out our newest paper 🧵 authors.elsevier.com/a/1kCvD55vZDgHD
Feeling like it's the first day of school! 😊 Excited to kick off my postdoc research position at @mrccbu @Cambridge_Uni

Happy to share our new paper on prenatal maternal cry processing, infants’ affective concern and negative emotionality. cambridge.org/core/journals/…
Well, it happened again. We we were looking for some trial data on what happens to kids if you treat their parent's mental health problem. This time we looked at parental bipolar & schizophrenia. Simple question really. So, what did we find? 🧵 frontiersin.org/journals/psych…
Highly recommended! It’s a great opportunity to work with a brilliant mind on a fascinating reseach.

An insightful use of the #RDoC framework in clinical settings. The study investigates the ability of large language models to estimate RDoC dimensions from narrative clinical notes of adult psychiatric inpatients; doi.org/10.1016/j.xjma… @royperlis
