Ok, just joined this 🫡 I will document everything here: the research, the development and the marketing. I am also getting ready a YouTube channel for quick videos of my progress. Let's try to do something great.
1/ 🚢 #Shipaton is back! The global hackathon that’s all about shipping apps (and making money doing it) returns this August & September. With over $300,000 in prizes, a Times Square billboard, and live events around the world. 🧵👇 Here’s everything you need to know:
Literally me posting that while being stuck overthinking which app idea should I build next I guess it is skill issue, I need to build more
The real “skill” that you unlock by continuously shipping is to stop overthink. Like if you don’t get the feature perfect, fck it, just ship it and iterate (just make sure it does not break other things)
Well, got a few potential ideas, now I am setting the @expo project ready and then I will have to pick one to start building for the @RevenueCat ship-a-ton
So...... time to do some market research and find a new idea. That's need to be done today, since I really have to start building and publishing the app, we have only what? 11-12 days left??
Ok, time to focus 100000% in the ship-a-ton, tomorrow I will be posting updates of what I am building and progress 😶 (I know, I should post now, but it is time to sleep)
Still trying to get nice animations (Duolingo-style) for my mobile app but… It seems almost impossible without some drawing or video skills…… Do you know any tool (AI or similar) that could help? I am looking for an easy way to build something like this (maybe not that good…
Well, last try, I have decreased the time about 1 minute. I will stop now since I have to work in the ship-a-ton! But basically, here you have the last 2 minutes of my best submission so far! #RevenueCatPaywallChampionship
I am getting ready for the Ship-a-ton but... since I had to learn Paywall V2, I just uploaded my submission for the @RevenueCat speedrun! Here you have the last 2 minutes of me cloning the required paywall 🫡 #RevenueCatPaywallChampionship
Ok, I did another submission improving the time by a lot in #RevenueCatPaywallChampionship Let's see if that one improves my score in @RevenueCat speedrun! These are the last 2 minutes 😁
🥈20 semi-finalist spots, 🗓️7 days left to enter, 🗽5 all-expenses paid trips to NYC, 💰1 $5,000 grand prize ...and only 3 entries so far. You do the math! Enter the RevenueCat World Paywall Speed Building Championships for your (pretty decent) chance to win.…

Related to the #shipaton, since there is still some time to release the app, I am trying to improve UI to make characters like Duolingo. Right now I made a fine tuned version of Flux model and it is starting to work great (although need some work) but… animating them is the…
I am wondering how people are building such beautiful apps Duolingo-like, do they hire designers right from the start, before having income? Maybe they are already designers? Currently trying to create my own ones and they are crazy ugly 🥲
Learning right now how to use Rive for animating some stuff for my upcoming app for the Ship-a-ton from @RevenueCat As a dev, all this animation stuff is complex but... I think it will bring a really good feel to the app, here it is my first animation (using a YT tutorial):
Just finished setting up icon & splash screen in the app (at least the initial version). Right now I did not find a way to set the icons for the glass style in iOS26, so I guess @expo will add them in a future update, so a todo for then!
By the way, if someone creates an icon and wants to remove the background, search in Replicate for remove-bg from fotto-ai It is the tool that removed it the best for me, without any weird artifacts
This. This has been the solution. I did not achieve the icon I wanted in the first try but in the second one. Obviously I could try more iterations, but this one was good enough.
Previous solution using just ChatGPT did not work right for me, so I have just tried this with much better results. Still not 100% what I am looking for (to be honest, it is a complex icon to create right), but much better than the previous one
Found an easy way to replicate Liquid Glass icons with ChatGPT. 👇
Since I have been already coding too much today, it is time to create an app icon. Usually I go to Fiverr or Upwork for that but... let's try this.
ChatGPT is so good at creating app icons now First attempt 🤯
Following this tweet, and as a small update: - I already got an idea to build (not sharing yet, soon™️) - Just setup the basic skeleton of the project, for this app I decided to use Expo, to try and launch both in iOS and Android fast
