.@HoustonFire is assisting first responders in Kerr County with an engine & 4 members from the Tactical Deployment Unit. Plus, 3 HFD firefighters are deploying as part of Texas A&M Task Force One. The flooding is historic & deadly. Others always help us, so we are helping others.

This week, HFD's Firefighter Support Network hosted crucial peer support training with Gulf Coast Center. 21 HFD members joined other local agencies to become CISM team members, learning to help fellow firefighters process traumatic calls. #MentalHealthAwareness

The HFD Honor Guard supported our brothers & sisters in Idaho this weekend as they laid to rest Couer D'alene Idaho Battalion Chief John Morrison and Kootenai County Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Frank Harwood. It’s a privilege to serve these firefighters in such a tragic time.




New HFD crews are arriving in Central Texas to support recovery operations. We also had a group of chiefs visit the State Operations Center (SOC) to show our continued support during the response. We’re proud to serve alongside our state partners to protect and support Texans.

While attending the groundbreaking for Selena Quintanilla-Perez Park, I ran into the crew from Engine 41, who were responding at the park for a heat-related illness. Thanks to our crews in the field, and please everyone stay safe in this summer weather.
Our firefighters in Central Texas continued damage assessment work today after the catastrophic floods, this time near Liberty Hill.



Today, HFD’s unit deployed to the Central Texas floods performed damage assessment in San Saba. In disaster, identifying the scale of the damage is an important early step in recovery. We will continue to support response and recovery as long as we are needed.



HFD members worked tirelessly to keep Houston's Fourth of July celebration safe - from Inspectors overseeing fireworks to medical teams on bikes, carts and in tents ready to respond. Thank you to all who served and thanks Houston for coming out! #HoustonFire
