Our lab uses a variety of molecular techniques to define how mechanical signals regulate skeletal muscle mass
1/10 Excited to write this thread summarizing our new paper in @NatMetabolism, which identifies a potentially critical part of the signaling pathway that drives skeletal muscle growth in response to resistance exercise! Free link rdcu.be/el9am #Myotwitter @NIH_NIAMS

Great points are raised in this 5 min read. Plan to restructure NIH would stall science, not streamline it thehill.com/opinion/health…

📢The Integrative Muscle Plasticity Lab @UF_HHP is seeking graduate students (MS/PhD) & staff for Fall 2025 / Spring 2026. No prior background in muscle needed – just curiosity & drive. 🔁 Please share or tag someone interested. #Myotwitter #PhDPositions @UFMyology @UFBreathe
Soo pumped to see this paper online! Much of my work over the past 3 years. Fitting to be ending my time at @UKYCMB with this one- I learned a lot, made new collaborations, and it led to important discoveries and data for the field #myotwitter sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

If you're interested in knowing more details about the proposed FY2026 budget for each of the proposed NIH institutes, then go to the link below. Warning..... It's bad.... really really bad. herehttps://officeofbudget.od.nih.gov/insti_center_subs.html

Here is where your institute/center at NIH would go under the proposed restructuring plan. For the NIAMS folks, you would now go to the National Institute of Body Systems and the collective institutes in there would experience at 30% budget reduction (better than the 40% average)

Post doc opportunity with Karyn Esser @UF working on the SOMMA project! Reach out to her if you are interested.
