I've felt kinda disconnected from my interest in film more then I'd like to be(as someone who wants to make them) recently so I decided to take a page out of @MightyAsterisk's page and make a thread discussing my TOP 25 FAVORITE FILMS, these are not nesscearly the best movies-

Interesting detail I think most Superman fans forget is that Donner’s Fortress of Solitude is made of crystals because Krypton’s made of crystals. It’s made to look like a mini Krypton. Even tho it always looks like that now despite every new krypton looking different

The new movie created a bunch of new fans and if you want to read 1 story that will make you love Superman even more, please read Superman: Smashes the Klan by Gene Luen Yang. Especially if you want to understand why the immigrant experience is so fundamental to Superman.

They traded in the “hope of two worlds” theme & the tragedy of Jor-el/the fate of Krypton so we can get 500 more scenes of Kal hugging the Kents while dumb rock music blares in the background…

The most popular idea of Superman for the next decade is really gonna be that he’s a “nature vs nurture” character, and not that he’s a child of two worlds who was nurtured by both, all thanks to this film 🙃

The thing with Krypton not being alien enough is that it's not supposed to be alien. It's a cautionary tale for earth, where we'll end up if we continue down this path. If it's too alien you lose that. There's a reason Siegels initial ideas had it just be earth in the future
