Renewing the Promise of Medicare Advantage
@FixMedAdvantage
Committed to fixing Medicare Advantage with commonsense reforms that benefit patients. Restoring accountability & transparency in the health insurance industry.
.@AmerComm launches “Renewing the Promise of #Medicare Advantage” reform campaign. To ensure MA remains a viable & better option for seniors, MA must be reformed via strong accountability, competition & transparency. See our blueprint: fixmedicareadvantage.org/problems-solut… @gopdoccaucus @WSJ
Also, anyone find it odd @AARP's letter calls for savings from stopping big insurers’ Medicare overcharges to go towards big insurer Medicare supplemental plans (vision, hearing, dental) such as UnitedHealth offers using AARP’s brand? Can’t make this up! @sarahkliff @davidenrich
Prior authorization in the Medicare Advantage program can be a burden to both patients and providers. Modernizing this administrative process to achieve the right balance would allow providers to deliver timely care to their patients and achieve better health outcomes.…
🎯 @Drews_Views: "If conservatives want to preserve Medicare Advantage, they must confront an uncomfortable truth: parts of the program are being abused by powerful insurers — and that abuse threatens to undermine everything that makes MA worth defending." newsmax.com/drewjohnson/aa…
Ensuring that we actually have the right incentives aligned within the Medicare Advantage program will help MA deliver on the promise of more innovative and responsive care for patients to help them live healthier lives. @RepDavid
.@Drews_Views piece nails the Medicare Advantage dilemma. MA gives seniors better health results at lower cost but big insurers twist the system to benefit themselves. MA is critical, and to save it, we must reform it. @GOPDoctors fixmedicareadvantage.org/problems-solut… newsmax.com/drewjohnson/aa…
Today @RepJasonSmith warned that Medicare Advantage plans inflated “a patient’s level of sickness, resulting in higher reimbursements for the plan at taxpayers expense.” MA is a necessary program, but we must reform it to save it. @FixMedAdvantage
.@WaysandMeansGOP is leading the fight to improve Medicare Advantage so MA plans can continue providing quality outcomes for beneficiaries and value for taxpayers. We must empower every American to be the “CEO of their own health.” buchanan.house.gov/2025/7/icymi-b…
Medicare Advantage is a program that was created with good intentions, but taxpayers have subsidized wasteful, fraudulent, and abusive practices from insurance companies for too long. Big insurance companies have put profits before patients. @WaysandMeansGOP
.@RepAdrianSmith: “I want to make sure seniors have the choices that can lead to higher quality outcomes and cost savings as well” This is exactly right. #Seniors deserve quality care at affordable prices & that starts with reforming #Medicare Advantage. youtube.com/watch?v=dnwIsA…
"I’ve urged the Justice Department to expand the investigation into @UHC to closely examine every allegation of fraud, waste, and abuse.” Thank you @RepLloydDoggett for calling out the real problem – Big Insurers. @WaysandMeansGOP youtube.com/watch?v=dnwIsA…
.@RepJasonSmith calls out big insurer upcoding: "We know of concerns about MA plans inflating a patient’s level of sickness resulting in higher reimbursements for the plan at taxpayer expense, at an estimated $40 billion in 2025 alone." @WaysandMeansGOP youtube.com/watch?v=dnwIsA…
During @WaysandMeansGOP hearing, @RepTerriSewell wondered "what we can do to reform [Medicare Advantage] in order for it to meet the promise that it brought when it was first implemented." This is RPMA's mission—See our blueprint: fixmedicareadvantage.org/problems-solut… youtube.com/watch?v=dnwIsA…
.@VernBuchanan gets it: "Transparency is crucial for maintaining trust in the system & ensuring efficient use of taxpayer dollars. I believe we can protect the integrity of MA while ensuring it remains a strong option for beneficiaries." @WaysandMeansGOP youtube.com/watch?v=dnwIsA…
.@modrnhealthcr: "Medicare Advantage competition was meager in 97% of counties last year” MA NEEDS more competition NOT a handful of insurers dictating care for their own profit! fixmedicareadvantage.org/problems-solut… modernhealthcare.com/insurance/mh-m…
Check out this thread from @cforhd that takes you through all the ways patients can be touched by one of UnitedHealth Group's nearly 2,700 entities as they navigate the health care system.
The release of The Sunlight Report means the public finally has some transparency into UnitedHealth Group’s vast, sprawling network of nearly 2,700 subsidiaries. But what does it mean for patients in our health care system? 🧵 #SunlightUNH
Great investigation here into UnitedHealth. Turns out it has 2,694 subsidiaries! And about 40% of its total gross revenue comes from companies it also owns. Co-pub with @dorajfacundo & @PatrickMRucker at @TheCapitolForum:
NEW: My nonprofit (@CforHD) has just released The Sunlight Report on UnitedHealth Group to pull back the curtain on UnitedHealth Group — the health care giant that’s quietly buying up your doctors, clinics, data & more. Here’s why it matters:
