Mamdani's grocery campaign inspired me to write this. New York City can stop big chain stores and big suppliers from distorting grocery markets. nytimes.com/2025/07/21/opi…
The irony is that, despite the sneering tone at "populists," it's this person who has failed to keep up with modern economics
Lots of really bad economics in today’s NYT op-ed on grocery store competition. Take this passage for example:
Here is Senator Dr. Roger Marshall’s now-deleted tweet when the Panasonic plant was announced. You can’t just lie!
I’ve said from the beginning that this was going to be a boondoggle. EVs (especially the batteries) are terrible for the environment and are not economically viable without government giveaways. This plant will only result in higher utility costs for Kansans, and a huge bill…

Shocked that a project of Donald Trump and Sam Altman's overpromised and underdelivered
Oh ya think?
lol come on

And then you add to this the 5.1 million projected loss from failing to extend the ACA premium tax credits
Here is CBO's final score of the Republican megabill. It incudes their estimate that there will be 10 million more people uninsured. But, we don't yet have any details of coverage losses by year or by type of coverage. cbo.gov/publication/61…
