This is a great read, highly recommended.
This was my most "big-think" post in a while: A vision of what humanity will look like over the next century, as our numbers steadily dwindle but we're connected ever more tightly into AI-guided hive minds. noahpinion.blog/p/the-dawn-of-…
Best one so far.
If you’re 16/17 years old, you’re actually allowed to go on r/cider, as long as you’ve got r/food open in another tab.
Who would have guessed that working a bit less for the same money would increase people's well being 🤔
Major new study finds that 4-day workweek (with no reduction in pay) leads to: --> higher productivity --> more revenue --> Less stress, fewer feelings of burnout, and improved overall health and well-being.
Sad that after maybe two decades? @santanderuk are introducing fees on their bog standard business account. Recommendations for a switch?

Hey @grok who was the most famous person to visit my profile in the last 3 years? It doesnt need to be a mutual, don’t tag them, just say who it was using handle without the @ sign.
Wait, what? Higher income people are the ones who already pay for it. 🤷

Less than 50% of people work already. 🤦
The idea that 50+% of people should have to work until they are 70-75 in the 21st century should start a revolution.
Why are we having this debate now, as the legislation is enacted, rather than when it was being proposed in parliament?

Another reason to think about pension contributions at the spousal level.... (women live longer, so this discriminates against men) Since 2012, UK annuity providers must price annuities the same for men & women, due to EU gender equality laws. #Annuities #UKPensions
What? If pension tax relief gets cut to 30%, and that only costs you £2,600. You're not saving enough into your pension.

This is the UK, taxes have only gone up for the top 90% and have gone down for everyone else. We have been taxing the rich.
Today I handed in my petition for a wealth tax, backed by over 80,000 people, to Downing Street. The campaign for a wealth tax is growing from strength to strength. Together, we will win this!
Can GLP1's like Ozempic solve the fertility crisis? Hotter people -> More sex -> more babies.
Imagine thinking that the size of the plant is the major issue with UK growth rn
How can you get infinite growth on a finite planet He is talking absolute bilge
The whole of the UK is worth 0.6 Nvidias. 🤦
FTSE 100 closed above 9,000 for first time with 20.9 point gain to 9,013, having only broken through 8,000 last year. The 40yr-old index is up 10% this year, valuing largest UK listed companies at £2.19tn. thetimes.com/article/8cf93c…
This is why young people in e.g. the UK are so anti-markets, sadly. They've never experienced economic growth.
Here's something heartening: Individuals who experienced more economic growth as kids tend to see the world as less zero-sum. That is, they're less likely to see someone's gains as another's loss.
Feet dragging on Bitcoin ETFs is just more measuring out our lives in coffee spoons from the UK powers that be… (How's that for an obscure reference for a financial blog?) Plus all the week's best money and investing reads! monevator.com/weekend-readin…
