Those that can cause the greatest harm bear the greatest responsibility to take care and reduce the danger they pose to others. Neither Dutch nor Glaswegian.
True
Want to get away with murder? Hit them with a car. You might get away with claiming it was an accident, but, even if convicted, the sentence will be a fraction of that you'd get if you used ANY other weapon.

One of the best passive aggressive ways to get the message across to drivers blocking the green cycle box is to simply lean on their cars, then point at the green box.
How DARE you ask me to drive my car carefully and a little slower just to save other people's lives!
Hitting a pedestrian at 30 MPH will likely send them to the hospital. Hitting at 40 MPH will likely send them to the morgue. A $35 fine is nothing considering the stakes.
No doubt lots of drivers are going to whine about this. Close-passing isn't a specific offence; it's careless or inconsiderate driving under the Road Traffic Act 1988. Overtaking into oncoming traffic is the same offence. A person on a bicycle is traffic.
This is still a close-pass. Even when the vehicle the driver is passing is oncoming. And a failure to give way to oncoming vehicles before overtaking parked cars. Shouting and gesticulating at the cyclist doesn't change that. Hopefully the police action will help them understand.
Another excellent video demonstrating that people moving slowly, at human scale, on small, agile bicycles can navigate complex environments without issue, even if they’re not complying strictly with the letter of the law. Even cops know it. Legalize the Safety Yield everywhere.
A dangerous cyclist illegally contravenes a red traffic signal while not looking where they're going and almost collides with multiple vulnerable pedestrians.
The van driver who asked for his day in court. "You can't prove a careless close on a cyclist" "The Highway Code rules on this is only guidance, not law" "I'd challenge it in court and win" Maybe he took some legal advice from X and tried to defend it in a number of ways.

I'm currently retired, until mid-August. Most teachers in Scotland are. Our English counterparts will all be retiring soon.
'Vacations.' The word is 'vacations.'
"speed limits are as dumb and unfair as gun control" We had a school shooting in Scotland. Once. We banned handguns. There hasn't been another. Apparently we should ban cars.
If you keep making the speed limit lower while ignoring the unlicensed, high and drunk drivers involved in 75 of traffic accidents, yet it will cause anguish. Unreasonable speed limits are just as dumb and unfair as gun control.
Drivers…. did you give cyclists a granny-on-a-bench-worth of space today? Love this in Todmorden

LTDA share a spoof video from a comedian and give terrible advice to drivers. Twitter taxi drivers respond with violence in the comments.
This is yet another Scam! The law permits touching a phone screen whilst the phone is in a fixed cradle in exactly the same way it is lawful to touch a fixed screen in a TXE or any other modern car! Tell the scammers to go forth and multiply!
