Sometimes I take virtual drives on google maps. I came across this road called Big Bay Rd in the UP of Michigan. Imagine this being just a typical drive in October..
Two months from now, we’ll be tracking the first fall colors of the season 🍁🍂 Hang in there y’all!
This heat has me looking forward to: -Cool autumn mist with fall colors -Hiking in fresh snow Just a few months away 🍁❄️
Nothing spooky about these Halloween views. 📍Greensboro, NC @GuilfordNPS @wfmy @ExploreFall
At the moment, you still can’t get here. The roads are washed, and the AT needs work, but hiking in with a saw and breaking trail was worth it to visit this old friend. A resilient beacon standing sentinel over communities as resilient. 📍Rich Mountain, NC
Genuinely shocked how good our fall color has come on in the last few days. 📍Greensboro, NC @ExploreFall @wfmy @clairefrywx

The absolute ONE piece of equipment worth investing in for Fall foliage is a GOOD CPL filter. These images were all taken today in the noon hour, in the worst possible light. CPL is the cheat code no one tells you about. 📍Pembroke, Va
First snow of the season in the Smokies! Peak foliage sharply transitioned to a full on winter wonderland in the highest elevations ❄️

A brief update on our operations ⬇️ Helene knocked us offline during our busiest time of the year. Catching back up has been difficult, but we’re nearly ready to return to our normal updates.
On an @ExploreFall note, I’m a day or two away from being caught up on grad school work. Our freely-available products have played second fiddle to more important work since Helene. We will be back to normal operations next week. Thank you for your continued patience!
