Do you want to Nationalise the Water Companies? Please RT after voting - thank you.
Please tell me, what kind of person starves children to death? What kind of person shoots starving children?
England water bills will rise by a third to fund privatisation. People already paid. Companies didn't invest, paid £85bn in dividends. Customers to pay again for service they don't get. Companies raise capital from customers, shareholders take profits. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
Hey Steve Reed, how can Thames Water be worth £20 billion if it's 16.8 billion in debt and falling apart? That’s like crashing a car at 200mph and then asking the dealer for the showroom price. 🚗💥 Doesn’t matter what it was worth, or how much you spend on enhancements - it…
“I'm not going to focus on ideology." It would cost £100bn to nationalise water companies and the government would have to take that money from the NHS and education, Environment Secretary Steve Reed tells @krishgm
Why doesn't Ed Balls not know that re-nationalising water wouldn't cost the taxpayer a penny? Answer is that Labour Ministers, past & present have been pedalling the same line for so long they stopped thinking.
Here is Feargal Sharkey explaining that the £100bn figure that is quoted by the government for the cost to renationalise the water industry comes from a report funded by the water companies themselves.
Put this man in charge of the new water regulator. @SteveReedMP @Keir_Starmer @Feargal_Sharkey
Monbiot is correct, to our great regret, and detriment..
Feargal Sharkey explains that this £100bn figure everyone keeps quoting for the cost to renationalise the water industry comes from a report by the private companies! Feargal then outlines why nationalising the water industry wouldn't cost us a penny #GMB
Look at this absolute zGod. Daniel Perry, the dancer who held aloft the flag of Palestine at the Royal Opera House to protest the genocide in Gaza. Bravo Daniel. Bravo.
Labour seems totally incapable of cleaning up our water. Banning bonuses is least they should do (& water companies are getting round it anyway). Re-announcing old pledges & peddling myths about cost of nationalisation won’t cut it. Bring water into public hands now #bbclaurak
The true cost of nationalising water is close to nothing. No one pays full price for bust companies. Very often, they go for £1. Why do ministers keep lying, or are they really stupid enough not to know?
Wow! @SteveReedMP once again claims it'd cost "Upwards of £100bn to Nationalise Water" This is a Lie This figure is from a report funded by the Privatised Water Industry to lobby against Nationalisation Why is a Labour MP regurgitating industry lies?
Stunning scenes as three heroic police officers risk their lives tackling this terrifying terrorist. We can only pray the officers survived this confrontation with a tiny elderly woman 🙏
Big up, the actor who unfolded a Palestinian flag on stage at the Royal Opera House.
Farage should never be interviewed without being forced to answer for failures of Brexit. That the man whose lies fuelled Brexit vote which has cost UK Billions & who said Liz Truss budget was “best Tory budget since 1986” could be trusted on *anything* is mind-boggling #bbclaura
We don't need a new Ofwat, we need to go back to the early 1980's when there was no Ofwat, because we owned the Water. Like every other country on the planet.
Why does the BBC always include context like "Iran-backed Houthis" and "Hamas-run hospital" but never "US-backed IDF" or "indicted-war-criminal Benjamin Netanyahu"?
