“When Trudeau resigned we were in third place in seats and frankly if he hadn’t resigned we’d have been in fourth by inauguration. Now, the Liberals will govern comfortably for a while - a couple years at least - because it’s not in anybody’s interests to blow up this Parliament”

Usually the idea behind these is for staff to flood social media with clips that make the guest look good. I've seen... not a lot. Just vague requests people watch a full 70 minute podcast knowing most people absolutely will not... /1
Back to the 2 second clips. Well done 👌👏😂 You’re really convincing people! 👍
Well other than @ArfinNathaniel - but he knows how bad the thing is if you actually watch it. 2/2

People reasonably groan when the Liberals blame Harper for problems a decade after he left office. Same applies here. Liberals own this choice, whether you decry it or celebrate it.
This man led the charge in global divestment in oil and gas... now he's trying to take credit for a project that he and his party did their best to delay and even cancel! Let's be honest, this was only built because of Stephen Harper’s environmental rules, first nations…
On Crombie’s interview today and the weird messaging that admits Crombie did a terrible job but also wants us to take it on faith that things will be better, somehow —>
“Ontario’s got the third highest unemployment rate of any province in the country, but we’re not talking about that because we have a leader more focused on saving her job than fighting Ford. She is down 22% in Thursday’s Abacus poll, but you know, she’s allegedly got momentum.”
I just registered for the @OntLiberal AGM! Regardless of the leadership question, Liberals can all agree that we need to build an inspiring, comprehensive vision for Ontario’s future. Looking forward to big discussions. Let me know if you’ll be there & want to meet! #onpoli
Bonnie here fighting other Liberals with like 10 times the energy and effort she showed fighting Doug Ford throughout 2024 and the campaign.
WATCH - “There are individuals who have blind ambition” says Ontario Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie when I ask about Liberal MP Nate Erskine-Smith campaigning for her job. “My attention isn’t divided between differing responsibilities, nor do I have a blind ambition for power”
Last Crombie clip from @TheresaLubowitz’s podcast before I write a column: on losing her seat and the failure of the Mississauga/905 strategy:
Another great clip to encourage you to watch the full interview for the context.
Especially to put that clip into context.
More from @TheresaLubowitz’s podcast, wherein Bonnie claims the reason she didn’t spend on pre-writ ads was fear of an early election, despite saying she thought she had till June 2026:
Bonnie Crombie on the early election on @TheresaLubowitz’s podcast: “It all happened very quickly. We weren’t fully prepared, we didn’t have the resources. We thought we had another year and a half.” Just blatantly unacceptable
This interview is absolutely worth the watch.
My buddy @TheresaLubowitz has done us all a service with this in-depth conversation about the state of the OLP. Listen to the whole thing in context. podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/pro… #onpoli
It was blatantly obvious for months to anyone following #onpoli that Ford was eyeing an early election call. Including Crombie herself, who commented on this multiple times. Acknowledging our failures with plans for reform is the OLP’s best path forward. Not revisionist history.

Interesting way to try to distract from the fact that TRUMP IS IN THE EPSTEIN FILES
TRUMP: CONSIDERING REBATE CHECKS FOR LOW-INCOME AMERICANS
Everytime I say "this should be enough to show you change is needed" another more pressing piece of evidence crops up. Though you had another year and a half? It was common knowledge, even among people that *don't* work for political parties, that Doug was calling a Q1 2025.../1
This is such a fundamental failure of leadership.
election since, at very least, mid-2024. The signals were actually there from early 2024 and even 2023 as the LPC numbers were cratering and Doug wanted to ensure he could run against Trudeau. The only question mark on pulling the trigger was if the LPC numbers were good. /2
But that speaks to the exact opposite approach - coming out guns blazing with a massive PR and campaign blitz through 2024 to drive your numbers and make a Q1 2025 election too risky. Instead the OLP sat back and did essentially zero in 2024. This is absurd. 3/3
