Working for a stronger Ontario Liberal Party to defeat Doug Ford. New Leaf Liberals🍂
"We are strictly calling for the current leadership to recognize that they have failed us and that it's time for us to move forward with change so that we can build a stronger Ontario Liberal Party," [Nathaniel Arfin] said. Thank you @Shawn_Jeffords for taking the time!

This is disingenuous for two reasons: 1) the 50% steel and aluminum apply to everyone. 2) once proper preferential rates are claimed you’re looking at about 60-80% of trade going to be CUSMA compliant. 2024 levels are massively understated for administrative reasons. /1
US tariffs with: 🇯🇵 15% 🇪🇺 15% 🇨🇦 25% on non-CUSMA (35% after August 1; 50% on aluminum and steel)
Theresa did a great job, and was a balanced interviewer. There are questions Crombie didn’t answer which I’m disappointed with, but this was the first long form interview with her that I can recall. Must listen.
I do want to make a comment about my approach to the interview (as non-journalist). I like to think I'm tough but fair (with a smile). Could I have been tougher or pressed some more follow-ups? Sure. But I saw this conversation as a chance for people to hear from Bonnie, not me.
There's been a lot of focus on the leadership of the party since the election. But I want to remind people that there are a ton of ways you can contribute to moving OLP forward. Executive Council positions will be voted on at the AGM. Why not run? ontarioliberal.ca/2025-agm-elect…
We have been hearing from Liberals across the province. They believe in the Ontario Liberal Party as a force for positive change in this province, but they don’t feel their efforts or their voices are being heard. We must grow together to build this party back to what it can be.
🚨 Doug Ford didn’t “save” Ontario schools — he defunded them, then blamed elected trustees for the chaos he created. Now he’s stripped their power, silenced their emails, and called it “accountability.” This isn’t oversight. It’s a hostile takeover. #OnPoli #SaveOurSchools
The messaging from the leader's office is remarkably familiar.
The best ideas won’t come from Queen’s Park. They’ll come from you. Rebuilding this party starts with the grassroots. And that’s exactly where we’re focused.
This interview is absolutely worth the watch.

Scabby has arrived at Fenway Park! Shame on Aramark! Enjoy the game, don’t buy food and drink in the park.
"All our plans were to roll out our nominations and build out our platform for June 2026," she said, referring to the scheduled election date. "So we weren't ready," she said. "We struggled with the ground game. For sure, we didn't have the outreach people that we have today.”

This is one spot where I feel that #OntEd schools fail. But I don’t know how we get meal programs with funding being what it is.
Louder for the people in the back.
For every 1 student receiving support, 9 more go without. Boards across Ontario have been firing staff to try to grapple with cuts to Special Education funding. It’s unsustainable. This is #OntEd under Doug Ford. orilliamatters.com/local-news/cat…
“She’s insulting everyone’s intelligence,” said Nathaniel Arfin, an organizer with New Leaf. “We were unprepared. Show accountability. Take accountability for that. It was no one else’s fault.”
Asked directly whether she’d stay on if she fails to hit the 66% threshold of support, Crombie was non-committal. "Those will all be decisions that will be made after the fact. But I have a lot of confidence, and yes, I plan to stay on" #onpoli qpbriefing.com/news/can-bonni…
"We weren't ready, we struggled with the ground game for sure, we didn't have the outreach people we have today. We had PLAs – many of them largely defunct"
