I have a piece in @TheProspect this morning! It’s about the AI industry and the cancer it’s likely to cause. This one is both deeply personal and (imo) really important, so I hope folks read, share, reflect, etc! (link below) Some highlights 1/🧵
I'm curious if the people dunking on this have ever taken a foreign literature class, cause they can mess you up fr
i hate the fact that math and science smart students are considered smarter than english and history smart students
90 years ago, there was another abundance agenda, envisioned by socialists as a path toward building political power to the left of FDR's "middle road" My latest in @newrepublic on the cast of collectivists agitating for a planned economy to ensure abundance

NEW: We need to talk about the Americans who will pay for AI expansion with their health. Our @DylanGyauchL writes for @TheProspect about how AI energy demand and cancer and the human cost we'll pay for data center buildout (link below)
Tbc, there's no claim about the origin of my tumor. It's an example of how bad even "mild" cancer is to contextualize the health cost. But to say there's no science linking methane/diesel use & emitting NOx, PM2.5, and formaldehyde to cancer is insane
There either is a lot of bad science or no science involved here with this thesis resting on multiple faulty assumptions. It’s especially true for someone with carcinoid tumor where we don’t have any clear evidence of what truly causes it.
