Considering that border guards, potential employers and many others are interested in policing people via their social media accounts, the fact that "X" doesn't provide an easy and free way to mass-delete your tweets is insane and borderline evil
Doing some research on housing tenure debates in the 1930s and have seen this observation come up a few times--the idea that radical tenants in Red Vienna fighting to defend their housing constitutes a challenge to the ideology of home ownership

Trying to imagine a world where the existence of huge tax breaks for homeownership, HOPE VI, the Faircloth Limit, the growth of housing vouchers, expansion of public-private partnerships, decline of rent regulation and deregulation of housing finance doesn't pass the "gut check"
One of the weird things about academia to me is that really smart people can publish papers that clearly haven't gone through a really basic "hey is this true?" gut check of foundational assumptions.

“Tenants and Mamdani took a bet on each other. Mamdani’s gamble, rare in politics, was to stand for a controversial policy proposal—a rent freeze—and make an early, unwavering commitment to his chosen team: working-class tenants.” —@taraghuveer go.nybooks.com/4m8hHe2

89% of building in Rafah and 84% of buildings in northern Gaza have been destroyed. When the U.S. nuked Hiroshima it destroyed 67% of the buildings and 40% in Nagasaki. The destruction in Gaza is likely the most severe of any residential area in warfare history.

Andrew Cuomo partaking in the long-standing ruling class hobby of trying to turn housing tenure into a moral category
"When you own, it is a different culture to the community, right? You're vested. You're not renting. That's your property...When you rent a car, you treat it differently than when you own the car. When you're in a hotel room, how many towels do you use?" Just outrageously…
A ceasefire is not enough. The Israeli military’s weaponisation of aid and starvation to displace and destroy Palestinian society will not stop as long as Israel controls aid distribution. Our new analysis shows how Israel has imposed a deadly aid system through GHF ration…
